I don't think this is suitable for splitting large pieces as shown in first post (Haaland). It's a hatchet.

It'll likely be blunt on arrival, most retail axes are, but buy a cheap b@st@rd file and you can quickly put a decent edge on it, even better if you also have a whetstone to finish it

I'd also recommend you scrape off the varnish / lacquer and oil it, you'll get blisters if you keep the lacquer on

These are good files for cheap, 6" is fine for a small hatchet, if you're in to bushcraft and that type of thing you can also use it to strike a ferro rod and use with flint
