I can't see being in the North Sea and the English Channel in November being particularly fun
    Burgmeister's avatar
Hopefully you won't be in the North Sea. If all goes to plan you should be on a ship

Seems there's rotating offers on this cruise. I booked mid December with a "free" balcony upgrade and the drinks package for £750pp.

Just a note that if you don't book the drinks package with the cruise, the price goes up to £47 pp pn (£329) for the easy drinks package, £64 pp pn (£448) for the premium one. The Alcohol free one is £21 pp pn (£147) . You can't mix and match these and they have to be ordered for everyone. Drinks are expensive and only the breakfast buffet offers free drinks (juice and coffee).

Premium drinks if booked with the cruise is £230 direct £210 with seascanner £30pppd

£730, no balcony deal which might come back.

Most things with MSC book in advance.

When solo rates book multiple cabins if a couple to mix match the package.

whens best time to book any cruise for November ...looking at Marella all inc .... prices going up ...assume will go dow after school hols summer time ??? help .. please thanks
    getmore4less's avatar
Marella are overpriced a lot like the one stop shop package holiday with good regional flight options so happy to pay.

Get on the FB group for Marella cruising - all ship

Good place for information & reviews from people that know the product.

Best time depends what you want if fully flexible ship/date/cabin best value will be close to sail date if any cabins left.

Check the Virtuosa prices for last winter deals are on here.

Target is £300pp. £500pp with drinks

Just be prepared for cold weather it did snow on a couple of ours last winter.

Hamburg the main tourist attractions are open, go a bit later and Xmas markets will be up and running
(They were not read 6nov last year just putting them up)
    daemon1275's avatar
I dont think we'll see the £299 deal again this winter, but fingers crossed. Did it last December so got all the benefits of seeing the German christmas markets, etc, plus all the Christmas displays on board too for £299. Then, as you say, another £199 for the premium drinks.

    Was an amazing deal!

I would concur RE: going a few weeks later. Its a few pounds more but the Hamburg and Bruges Christmas markets were beautiful to see. The ship will also be decorated for Christmas too, which gives a lovely vibe. (edited)
  7. daemon1275's avatar
I'd personally be spending the £46 more each and go 1st week December and take in the German christmas markets and the christmas festivities on the ship.

We have the 17th 2adults 2kids 1baby all with the premium or kids equivalent package (and chocolate dipped straws, moet and flutes- obviously booked around Valentine's) £1530 so there are some good deals to be had early doors you just can't deliberate too much as they can be gone within minutes a especially the 4,5,6 berth cabins (edited)

Wow, scary; on first glance I thought that was the barge they are towing into Portland right now!

Great price, but Le Havre (Paris) that’s over 200 kilometres, about 3.5 hours
    daemon1275's avatar
You really dont want to be doing Paris from Le Havre.

We did Hornfleur. Beautiful little costal town.50612465-kJo9U.jpg

Why is this hot when it doesn’t include the drinks package?

Seascanner have another 25pp off with code JULY50

Trying to use my Fantastica benefit to do a swap and take the kids off original booking. Must say, although I knew what I was in for, in this situation it's a massive PITA not being able to speak to a human and just do it.
  13. getmore4less's avatar
MSC have dropped the price for 2 dates in Nov to £449

keep an eye out for the TA discounts to get it under £400pp now.
    TinBlack's avatar
Just paid 705 for deluxe inside Fantastica (only tangible benefit the breakfast in room when you can't face the zoo) for adult and 17yr old, who would count as an adult as the second passenger (edited)

Are any cruises bed and breakfast or room only?
    getmore4less's avatar
There was for a while but they did not last long, Easy cruise.

Some long distance ferry work on basic fares.
  15. H1nzy's avatar
We did this last year and got premium drinks package also for this price, we enjoyed are first cruise with MSC. Hopefully the price will drop again
    daemon1275's avatar
I think those prices are long gone to be honest. Their costs have went up dramatically and last year they were still having to entice people back to cruising with ultra cheap deals.

We've just come back from MSC Virtuosa 14 night cruise around Western Mediterranean...£1690 for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids). Free upgrade to outside view room. No drinks package but was offered at £29 pp per night
    shescurly's avatar
That sounds like a bargain for this time of year

    Where can you park
    getmore4less's avatar
    Loads of options.

West quay multi story is easy, cheap pay on exit benchmark.

    £5day(£35) 15min walk to terminal.

    west-quay.co.uk/par…ark

Port parking next to the terminal is with ABP £96.60 with discount ABPMSC22

which cruise line are best then for .....deals with drinks package ...not premium thanks
    getmore4less's avatar
Depends on the total at the end of the day and how much effort you put in.

It changes as they mix up the packages and prices and trips.

Last year Princess & MSC were great value this year NCL are best value for us. MSC for families

Best changes over time, seen mid range with decent value cost more get more.

Don't forget when looking at these 7n northern cruises to check all the dates.

Especially if looking at other than insides.
The lowest OV or balcony or suite is often a different date to the insides.
