This 2-pack 1TB MicroSD comes out to be £55.32 each which is a great price. The card being A2 and V30 means it'll perform great in a Steam Deck and will record videos at a rate of AT LEAST 30MB/s, more than enough for 4K recordings. Rated speeds up to 160MB/s which is competitive with SanDisk, Lexar, Samsung, etc.

Single card also available for £61.62 in the same link.

TEAMGROUP is pretty big over in the US and Canada. They do all sorts of NAND-related products like SSDs, MicroSD cards, and RAM.

UK retailers like AWD-IT also carry their RAM: awd-it.co.uk/com…tml (edited)

Hopefully you'll get the 1TB Pack and not the 256GB Card it claims further down in their description.

TBF for all the praise they seem to be getting on this thread, the lack of sales through their Amazon Store is pretty lacklustre to say the least (430+ Sales). I went direct to their US Store, and they seem to be selling this for £91, so I'm guessing Amazon are charging you the additional £19 just to have shipped to you. Some of the reviews seem a little dubious as well, but still, if you get what they claim, then fair play (edited)

    That £19 will be VAT.

Apart from Steam Desks (and perhaps Nintendo Switch too, perhaps?), what other device's out there are able/capable, etc, of being able to take a 1TB memory card within it, without any qualms/issue's, or whatever?

(Genuine question, by the way). :-)

    Thanx

Any modern device today will use the microSDXC standard which means it, at least in theory, will support all the way up to 2TB cards. Before 1TB cards came into market, all phone manufacturers were quoting their phone's max microSDXC card capacities at 512GB, but these still accepted 1TB (and therefore should take 2TB) cards. There are obviously rare edge cases depending on the device itself but they usually tell you beforehand. So in summary, any device that accepts a microSD card bigger than 32GB (and therefore uses the SDXC standard) should be able to accept a card all the way up to 2TB in size.

More info on the standards here: kingston.com/uni…ide

Here's Galaxy S9's quoted max card capacity at 400GB back when it launched early 2018. samsung.com/nz/…cs/

And here's someone putting a 1TB in it. reddit.com/r/G…s9/ (edited)

I would normally be concerned as this isn't a brand you usually hear about in the uk but the steam deck review does help. Steam deck is apparently very good at detecting fake sd cards.

If your getting these cards for the steam deck I wouldn't use both (swapping between SD cards)

The steam deck port is delicate and the constant swapping between SD cards can break the slot.

Ive heard this happen to a few people, my SD slot has started to become loose

"my SD slot has started to become loose"

    Note to self:

Is that a euphemism' for something? by any chance ...

These cards start to fail once nearly full, with write speeds slowing down to 500kbps after a while.
I ordered 4 a month ago and all 4 have the same symptoms once nearly full, making them near impossible to use on a switch / deck at 80%+ capacity.

We should be getting type C mem cards now

Hahahahahahahaha, good luck with that ...
