Apple M2 8-core Processor
8GB RAM
256GB SSD
Pretty. Powerful. Supercharged by the new M2 chip, Apple's 2022 MacBook Air balances a thin, lightweight design with first-class performance. The 13.6" Liquid Retina display brings superb visuals and colour on-screen, while the power-efficient battery keeps you going all day, and long into the night. An ultrafast, ultra-capable laptop that lets you work, play or create just about anything - anywhere.

Speedy. Silent. Streamlined.

This thing's fast. Like quicker than 99% of other laptops fast. Apple's next-generation M2 chip blasts through projects big and small, with even more of the speed and power efficiency that made the M1 an instant hit. And don't worry about any noisy fans distracting you either - there aren't any. It'll stay completely silent, no matter how intense the task.

A battery that just keeps going

Somehow, despite its impossibly thin design, the MacBook Air lasts up to 18 hours between charges. Pretty impressive, considering most of us struggle to even stay awake for that long. Oh, and just in case you need some juice quick, fast charging gives you up to 50% battery life in just 30 minutes.

To be clear, it's gorgeous

The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display comes with 500 nits of peak brightness, along with P3 wide colour and True Tone technology. Not sure what that all means? Well, put in plain English, you get superb visuals on a clear, bright, movie-style screen. It's probably the prettiest thing you'll lay eyes on all day (yourself aside, obviously).

Look sharp. Sound great.

Kitted out with a 1080p camera and three-mic array, you'll come through loud and clear on video calls and voice recordings. Don't worry if there's background noise - Apple's clever algorithm detects and amplifies your voice, instead of the audio around you.

Let your fingers do the talking

Comfortable and quiet, the Magic Keyboard has a full‑height function key row for quick access to controls and shortcuts. Touch ID makes it easy to unlock, enter passwords and make secure purchases or payments — all at the touch of a finger. And with the larger Force Touch trackpad, there’s even more space to work with precision.

Make some powerful connections

The MagSafe power cable easily attaches - and detaches - with magnets, preventing any unintended flights. Two Thunderbolt ports let you connect and power high-speed accessories, and the headphone jack supports high‑impedance headphones. Did we mention each finish comes with its own matching charging cable too?

Simply compatible

All your go-to apps run lightning fast, including Microsoft 365, Zoom, plus many iPhone and iPad apps too.

Colour is grey but it looks more like starlight.

Great value for money. Yes the M1 airs may be powerful enough for most users as well as cheaper, but the M2 does have nice quality-of-life improvements such as; fast charging, a larger screen, a better webcam, magsafe, high-impedance headphone support and most importantly as it was released 2 years later you will get 2 more years of updates from Apple.

Apple only used one chip for storage on this configuration so the I/O speeds are half that of the M1 equivalent. That's the trade off for the base M2 model.

    Are they really that fast?

Compared to the typical computer, Apple of the past or current Windows based of today, this machine will take a couple of weeks to get used to. It's such a different (and just flat out better) experience all around.

Fast, quiet and a battery that never seems to drop. You just cannot make a mistake buying this.

I bought refurbished iPad on eBay and shared photos to show everyone quality and condition of it. Could someone who will buy this laptop share the same here ?

Check my other comment. Keep on the lookout I’m sure they’ll restock

Great price but it is 'used' .
If you want brand new and are not in a hurry, keep a look out for offers at Very. Often they will have 10 or 20 percent off deals for new customers. I paid a net £898 for a new M2 Macbook Air on such a deal earlier this year.

Do you have to apply for the credit option?

I would be wary of battery condition vs buying it from Apple. Apple don’t put new batteries in like iPhones but still seem good I think.

Can always check the battery health and return it if you’re unhappy

bought one - 6 months old, couple of small marks and some shininess on the keys/trackpad. 40 battery cycles and 6 months Apple warranty left. Good deal particularly if buying with 10% cashback.

How do you get 10% cash back please ?

I asked this on the Amazon deal with the M1 chip and had no reply, so I'll ask again here with this being the M2.

Does anyone know if this is suitable for Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher? I know it's only 8gb ram, and for file storage I can get an external unit so the 256gb won't be a major issue , but I'm curious if it would cope and worth a bite at this price point. I may eventually do a bit of video work in the future so would be good to know its limits?

Or do I just go all out and get the Laptops Direct instead?

    Any input appreciated..

affinity is better software than modern adobe bloatware, it will probably be OK but obviously depends on your use case - 8gb RAM might perform like 16gb non-unified, but i would argue that 16gb is still a bit borderline if you do a lot of graphics work. I have 16gb in my m1 mini and i wish i’d got 32gb

Is this one or the new M1 priced at £777? Thanks

I have decided to get my daughter the M2 for when she starts Uni.
MagSafe is a plus as there aren’t many connections. She also preferred the slight redesign. Either are great.

Mine just arrived and it’s brand new. Not a single scratch or even a speck of dust. Still has apple warranty for a year and 100% battery health. Such a steal you’re getting a brand new laptop with a warranty from apple. Recommend this 100%
