This deal is based on 1 person travelling to a number of cities over 33 nights. This deal includes staying in shared dormitories in hostels and a fair bit of travelling, mainly by coach. All coach journeys are around 2 hours or less.

All hostels/hotels have an average reviews on TripAdvisor of 4/5 and up.

I’ve only included hand luggage as lugging around a big case wouldn’t be ideal with the amount of travelling. You can add a case if you wish, it is free on the coaches so it would just be the additional cost for the 3 flights. I’ve included the price of hand luggage on the Ryanair flights.

The cities covered are:-

Poland - Wroclaw/Katowice/Krakow
Czechia - Ostrava/Brno/Prague
Germany - Dresden/Berlin
Belgium - Brussels/Antwerp
Netherlands - Rotterdam/Amsterdam

We did Euorope Road trip last summer with 2 kids. London via euro tunnel - Brugge(Belgium) -Strasburg(France) - Lenk (Switzerland) - Milan & Venice - Cannes (France) - Paris -London
Total of 15 nights. All booked by Airbnb. Cost around £100/ night. Total cost including travel. Food. Accommodation £ 2500. It took me around couples of week just to plan but it was hell of a fun.

33 nights with just hand luggage? How is that even possible?

I've posted this before but I Inter-Railed twice in my youth and travelled all around the contintent. First time I went to Bucharest to watch my team Glentoran play Steaua, just 3 months after Caucescu was shot. I was also in Yugoslavia just before it broke up. Went to Rome and missed the big daddy by 10 minutes then in Milan to watch Inter play Fiorentina and seen a riot inside the ground. I was in Brussels and had a pint with Hibs supporters and was in Paris, Luzern, Salzburg to name a few.

I was never stuck for conversation. Everybody could speak English. There are things called launderettes for washing clothes. Some were in the hostels themselves. I sometimes caught an overnight train and slept in the empty carriages, waking up hundreds of miles away in a new destination. I lived like a king in Bucharest while ate bread and cheese in Switzerland.

I'm 50 now but this is one of the best things I've done in life.

If you're single go for it.

    This.

I'm very sociable around new people, but I've never fancied sharing my bedroom with 7 strangers haha

Maybe I should mention I was in the Louvre, Cistine Chapel and countless of Churches. I visited Belgrade Zoo (there was nothing else to do in the city) and visited Mozart's house. I met plenty of "normal" people btw, many of who were doing the same thing.

Just because I made football the reason, you're assuming I have no interest in other things.

Recently stayed in Clink Noord in Amsterdam. I had 1 bed in a 6 bed dorm and it was a really really nice hostel, worked out to £48 for 2 nights so less than £70 for 3 nights. Close to the station (by free 24 hour ferry) highly recommend the hostel

I think it's more geared towards someone looking to travel. In my early 20s I was able to get 6 weeks off work (obviously unpaid) and head to the states so it's possible to get he time off if you have a decent boss.

Or perfect for people taking a year out etc. Now if you were a travel blogger it's perfect. (edited)

Poland is a great country from what I have seen of it so far (Krakow & Warsaw) and the locals are so friendly, in fact we are going back there for the third time in a few weeks, this time to Bydgoszcz and Torun... give it a google, you might be surprised!

Heat for the effort op, I'm a private room with ensuite and hire car kinda girl, but if you are travelling by yourself on limited funds this is a great option

Can you see the work that’s gone into this? Why don’t you put up a deal doing the Whole of Europe yourself?

Or even just a deal will do!

They always have lockers.... and reception will usually also look after stuff.

I always stay in hostels. I’ve been in many in the UK.... in Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland. (I’m not a youngster, by any means!!). They’re always friendly places.. often full of youngsters (whose presence can recharge your batteries with their enthusiasm)...but also many middle-aged and elderly folk.... and small families too.

For me, personally, a hotel is a little self-indulgent.... a bit too much like being pampered in a world full of need. But that’s a personal view... and I respect other opinions on the subject.

I’m seriously considering this as an exciting break. Taking my cameras. A photo-expedition!

My only regret besides not doing it more often was I could have went to Berlin on the first anniversary of the wall falling. I assumed (wrongly) that the East and West wouldn't get on and there would be massive riots so I stayed away
