Surely all DM readers already have a bad name simply by being DM readers?

Typical drivel article from DM there, modern bulbs unpopular due to being cold and unnatural??? Nope, you just bought the natural white instead of the warm ones. Simple mistake, and banned by the EU? For reasons even they print as fact.. and then the new technology they talk about isn't included in the ban.. so the article makes no sense...
Oh, its just your usual Daily Fail, anti-EU, knuckle dragging, pro-fascist BS!

Always worry when the Daily Mail is linked as a source of information.

I've never seen LED bulbs on a 4 for a quid offer. If you are referring to CFL bulbs, they have largely been/are being superseded by LED.

The technology the Daily Mail refers to was over a year ago and hasn't to my knowledge made it to the market. The cost price (rather than running cost) is not detailed but, as with any other new technology, it is likely to be very high.

Incidentally, the availability of those bulbs that the Daily Mail refers to is not in any way impacted by EU Regulations. Their availability has nothing to do with Brexit.

For now, apart from being slightly underpowered for my preference, this is a good deal. (edited)

Ok for the price but 425 lumens is not bright for most.
Will do for small rooms but for anything bigger I suggest close to 1000 lumens. (edited)

What wattage is this equivalent to?

Just zoomed in on the picture, it's equivalent to 36w.

Good LED light bulbs are just so much nicer than the old incandescents though... longer-lasting, more efficient, and they're cooler to the touch so you don't have to worry about burning your hands on them if you do have to change them. Can't say I really miss the things.
