Is it just me or is this an incredibly ugly design?

Under counter lights should light up facing down. Depending on your height and distance from the counter, this'll be in your face! (edited)

Do these work with existing mains wiring for linked fluorescent tube lighting under cupboards?
I don't mean link to those, but to replace all of them? (edited)

Your existing light fittings are presumably hard wire with twin and earth. These LED fittings have figure eight two wire flex that plugs into the fitting. One solution would be a small mains wiring box somewhere along the path of each twin and earth, or close to it, where you would terminate the mains wiring and connect the flex that come with the new fitting. These LED fittings have a two pin out as well as a two pin in socket - but the supplied m to f lead is quite short and probably not long enough to link between your existing locations. So, probably one wiring box per existing fitting.

I have these fittings and the light output is quite low.

Call me old fashioned but isn't an important bit of information about a light fitting the actual light output Lidl

(I realise lumens will vary with colour temp)

personally i dont fancy fiddling around with a wire connecting to these and getting in the way. I've found the recharge led lights on amazon more than adequate.

If you have these on a Hue relay or similar, they change colour if the lights go off and on quickly which is annoying. (edited)
