Honestly dont trust adidas. They bought five ten and moved production to china (from usa). Build quality of their rock climbing shoes have gone majorly downhill since this happened. Just makes me question the quality of their outdoor kit. If you want a serious outdoor shoe, goes with a more renown brand. Eg merrell, scarpa, salomon etc. wouldn’t touch adidas with a bargepole for outdoor hiking/trekking. (edited)

I think Adidas shoes are beautifully designed, lots of different colours, wouldn't touch any of those brands you mentioned. I had Adidas Terrex GTX, walked on ski slopes, in rain, Beast from the East, in 8 years didn't get wet once. Recently treated myself to Adidas Terrex Eastrail Rain.RDY for £42, bargain. (edited)

    No mention of waterproofing.

Does anyone know what these are like on wet pavements? (edited)

I have a similar pair also with traxion soles. They are fine on wet pavements but they become slippery on wet smooth surfaces, like some indoor shopping areas and I imagine parts of the Underground etc, on when wet that is. Still better than the soles of my premium timberlands, those are even more slippery on these surfaces.

Overall, they’re versatile enough but maybe dodge them if you expect regular usage on smooth surfaces

Hiking? Sitting in the pub more like.

Like most fitness and sports footwear - most is not designed or used for its intended purpose I guess.

Agree though if you are doing a ‘proper’ hike then an investment in proper footwear is needed.

Good price. Might have bought if it wasnt for the extra £5 postage

Hate paying postage too - I only went for them as the code almost wiped out the delivery charge.
