The PC Physical version
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2023
Platform: PC | Edition: Standard

"For anybody who wants to know:
The PC version is a physical two DVD set, which comes in a nice mediabook style case (with mini booklet of photos). It's a nice little shelf piece if that's what you're after, and is activated via a steam key. The copy I received said it the release was limited to 2000 units so I assume it'll come bog stardard when they run out."

At the risk of asking a silly question... when you say it's activated through Steam, and the review that was referenced in additional info also mentions a Steam key, does that mean it comes with a code as well for redeeming the game from the Steam store or is a disc actually needed to act as a key? I like the idea of having a physical copy on the shelf for display but I want to play it on the Steam Deck which of course doesn't use optical media!

It has a code inside the case, which is usually the case with these physical copies whether or not they have the disc. You can register it on Steam and download as normal, so you don't actually need the discs.

With recent physical releases, I've found that often the disc doesn't have the whole game on it (which isn't that surprising given the size of modern games). This one comes with two discs though so it actually might.

Haven't used a CD-ROM drive in a pc in over 10 years. Good price though. (edited)

this game was fun for 5 minutes. Shame the Stadium Stampede Battle Royale mode was stuck behind a paywall, this could have saved this game for me

I used to look after MJF as a kid. It's funny seeing him making it big time now. Great price for the game! (edited)
