The terror continues in this chilling, critically acclaimed sequel written and directed by James Cameron. A controversial remaster I read and hear. Very waxy apparently.

“Film restoration archivist Robert Harris considers himself a purist when it comes to traditional 35mm film stock. But, in his Home Theater Forum review of “Aliens,” he said “The image has been de-grained (removed and replaced with grain-like pattern), with zero loss of resolution, which if anything has been slightly heightened. Colors are meticulously reproduced. ‘Aliens’ is an absolutely gorgeous affair that should please every cinephile.” He’s given the new 4K remastering a 10 out of 10 for its image and the same for its Dolby Atmos soundtrack.”

I honestly think people whine so much about grain removal and minor other things that 90% of people wouldn't even notice or even care about.

I heard terrible things about the Terminator 4K transfer and didn't watch it for years. Then when I finally decided to make my own mind up about it I didn't know what all the fuss was about.

Yes, it looks a little too clean and artificial in places but with the way people speak about it you'd think its an Unreal Engine 3, shiny mess. It isn't. And I'm sure this Aliens 4K will be no different. Day one! (edited)

Not everyone cares about picture quality, which is fine.

I really don't care what the so called "experts" say about the 4K quality - I'm happy that it got a 4K release after so many years of wait! Pre-ordered - thanks OP.

Got a free 4K upgrade to this in the Aliens boxset I bought from Apple, TV/itunes, so unless someone is going to say that the 4 k disc is significantly better I think I’ll,pass

Mean it's better, but at the same time your old 1080p itunes copy was better.
