Even if they are the 'cheapest ever', 24 for £17.60 is better value isn't it?

Were they definitely the pre-charged, low self-discharge variety?

    It was these ones yeah

Nice price, but I prefer the green-grey ones which are rated at 2400mah.

Best value currently are the 12 packs for £13.69 (£1.14 per battery):

Bought these before a few years back and they absolutely sucked and kept draining really fast, might be better now but I wouldn't bank on it

Only when I'm not with the wife 😁

So, you're not like the Duracell bunny when you're not with your wife? That's good for her, but I suspect you mean that you are like it when you're not with her, yes?

Might be ok for low draw items around the house, I was using them as xbox controller batteries so maybe I needed something more powerful than 2000mah

I got a batch of amazon basics rechargeables end of 2019 and they were good, not far off Eneloop / IKEA however they have since changed. Beware of the reviews as most are from 2018 or 2019, last set I had in 2020 were rubbish and only OK in lower power situations.
