I’ve not seen this type of lock before - has anyone got pic of these installed as not sure I understand how they work/installed?

Nice looking product, the only reason I've avoided these type of locks is because they're also good for thieves.
Once they break in, they lock you out from the inside giving them a chance to flee from the rear of the house.
Happened to me a few years ago but used the chain-type lock I had on my door at the time.

So they got in while you were out? Sorry to hear. I'm not sure this is the best reasoning to avoid this, for most situations, people are worried about locking thieves out of their home not the other way round. With your logic you can say that same about dead bolts too

Fit on the inside so can't be opened from other side they just flip good locks

Can you fit these on pvc frames? Because looks like it needs a flat surface to screw into?

Looks like only suitable to mount on wooden doors, dont think you could safely drill into UPVC to install these but I am no expert.

You can drill into UPVC just don't over tighten the screws. Stick a blob of no nails behind it before screwing and you'll be sound

You should be able to. Most frames should have some aluminium/metal structure within them.
I was able to drill a door chain onto my frame.
