About this item
  • QUALITY CONTROL APPROVED: We have increased the quality assurance and quality control. The products have been subjected to additional tests and marked with a QC sticker
  • LGA1700 COMPATIBILITY: The Liquid Freezer II 280 is compatible with Intel's new Alder Lake processors - Socket LGA1700
  • COOLER THAN OTHER AIO WATER COOLERS: The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II has a more efficient cool plate, pump and radiator that makes a difference among other AIO water pc fan coolers
  • 15°C LOWER VOLTAGE REGULATOR TEMPERATURE: An additional 40 mm VRM fan (PWM controlled) next to pump can provide extra cooling for the base and voltage transformer
  • INTEGRATED CABLE MANAGEMENT: The PWM-cable of the fans are integrated into the sleeved tubing. Thus there is only one short cable visible from the pump to motherboard replacing the usual cable mess
  • 80% LESS POWER CONSUMPTION: Unlike most pumps from our competitors, which run at full load even when idle, our pump clocks down consuming less power and producing less noise If no cooling is needed
  • MAINTENANCE-FREE WATER LOOP: The water loop is sealed and with high quality fiber-reinforce EPDM tubing you do not have to worry about refilling

Future-proof compatibility
At the end of 2022, AMD has released the AM5 socket, the successor to its popular AM4 platform. Because all mechanical dimensions remain identical, we are able to ensure the compatibility of ARCTIC coolers with AMD's new processors.

Additionally, all coolers shipped by ARCTIC are already compatible with Intel's Alder Lake and Raptor Lake LGA1700 processors.

Coolers purchased from resellers, however, may still have been shipped without the corresponding accessories.

I use this cooler on a 5800X3D. If you want to compare with what you have, I get these maximums on a Cinebench R23 muti-core run:-

    Temp - 82°c
    AIO Fans - 1472rpm
    CPU Package Power - 127W
    CPU Clock - 4450 MHz

Almost 1 in 10 people rate this at just 1 or 2 stars I notice...

It is an extremely good cooler. I have used with stock fans and Noctua slims, both very quiet, the latter is inaudible. I have used a few other AIOs (wouldn't necessarily recommend over air for most) and many will have some pump noise, these coolers are silent and the performance is great because of the thick rad.

The main issue is that the thick rad that doesn't fit in many cases. Mounting is top-tier and they have a special mounting system to deal with hot spots on AM4. (edited)

It's a shame the Arctic Freezer line have jumped in price. The 240 AIO used to be £50 with the 280 £10-15 more. Gamers Nexus' positive review made these go out of stock for months but once supply returned, the price also got hiked.

However, this is still a good price compared to the competition

Would have snapped this up but unfortunately the 6.75 cm depth rules it out for me.

I have used a Freezer II 280 to cool my AMD 3900X, 5900X and now a 7950X. I has run flawlessly for past 2-years, and is more than enough for any high-end AMD AM4/AM5 processor.

How did you install yours? There's no AMD backplate in the box?
