Possibly a niche deal, but at 35% off and its lowest price for 30 days, I figured this was worth sharing. Certainly worth trying at this price, IMHO.

The Range of Speedpaints
The Army Painter Speedpaint range is our latest solution to the problem of getting more time for gaming. We have created Speedpaints to help hobbyists all over the globe get their fully painted miniatures on to the gaming tables as fast as possible. This means that you can find a variety of colours to suit whatever painting project you want to finish quickly, be it a couple of minis for a boardgame, a certain monster for your roleplaying campaign or even an entire army of miniatures for your wargaming hobby.

The Army Painter Speedpaint range consists of the following paints: Pallid Bone, Zealot Yellow, Fire Giant Orange, Blood Red, Hive Dweller Purple, Highlord Blue, Orc Skin, Hardened Leather, Crusader Skin, Gravelord Grey, Slaughter Red, Purple Alchemy, Dark Wood, Sand Golem, Malignant Green, Camo Cloak, Magic Blue, Highlord Blue, Plasmatic Bolt, Runic Grey, Grim Black, Holy White, Absolution Green and Speedpaint Medium.

Speed Is the Name of the Game
The all-in-one Warpaint Speedpaint is truly a one-coat painting solution. Simply apply one rich coat of Speedpaint directly over a primed miniature and you are done!

Normally, painting miniatures is an enjoyable but time-intensive endeavour - especially if you are going to paint a large army. Now you can enjoy saving time with the Speedpaint procedure: Undercoat your miniatures with a white hue such as The Army Painter Matt White Colour Primer, let it dry and then get out your Speedpaints! You can apply Speedpaint directly onto the miniature in a heavy coat and get great results for next to no effort. Allow the paint to dry fully and watch as your unpainted miniatures come to life in no time. No need for basecoating, layering, shading followed by multiple highlights - Speedpaint gets your miniatures ready for the tabletop by creating both shade, basecolour and highlights in one coat of paint

Your Way into Gaming
Speedpaint was designed to be usable with any tabletop gaming system and as an ideal entrypoint to the world of miniature painting for beginners. Playing a game with your friends and family that has unpainted, mono-coloured miniatures can be devoid of immersion, especially if it is a roleplaying game. With Speedpaint, you can easily bring your miniatures to life, especially as a complete beginner. The Speedpainting process is easy and intuitive - just apply the appropriate colour on the surface you want - it's just like colouring inside the lines!

Mine arrived today. Tried the yellow and green - seem good, the yellow especially I liked how it compared to citadels nazdreg yellow- seemed like a more even coverage, less sloppy texture. I intend to do a direct comparison, can post pics if anyone is interested.

I’ll be testing the re activation too.

Oh! And it came with an army painter “monster” brush which I don’t need but hey - surprise free stuff! (edited)

I said I’d post some pics… Pic 1 is Nazdreg Yellow (Citadel) and pic 2 is AP Zealot Yellow.
The former is slightly more brown tinted and the recesses dry a little more satin than matt. The citadel paint also felt a little thicker going on. I applied both paints with a moist brush, trying not to be too liberal or spare. Paints were applied over a zenithal prime. On the basis of this not very scientific comparison, I prefer the AP. But only marginally.
After 24 hours drying time I used a wet brush to aggressively agitate the AP painted models and the paint stayed put. I haven’t yet tried over-painting.

These appear to be their Version 1 speedpaints. When mixing them with non-speedpaints they can reactivate (turn wet again after drying). They have a version 2 that (apparently) fixes this issue.

Agreed - they look like the version 1 paints, so probably just Amazon clearing their stock. I would avoid having used them.

They are version one. However, you can do some unique things with these paints due to how to reactivate them, so I have bought another set of them (the larger set, as they're on offer to).

The reaction is only an issue if don't allow the paints to dry correctly first. Been using these since they came out, never really had an issue. Just leave them to dry overnight, you'll be fine.

As someone who is not yet a painter (well I did 25years ago with some citadel paints), but has just started with some of the D&D sets that come with brushes and paints and want to expand a bit...
Should I or should I not get these?

The D&D paint sets are made by Army Painter, as are these speedpaints. The trouble is that SOME of the speed paints will reactivate after they dry (ie they turn wet again so colours will mix/blend) if you apply a non-speedpaint such as one of your D&D paints.

50599904-BHsrs.jpgFinally got around to using these today - very pleased with the result given I've not really painted barring one other mini for 20 years!
