    From what i had read, those are most likely to be green olives if Iron ( or ferrous if am not mistaken) had been added. Black olives ad generally more expensives as takes longer to ripe.
    If you want to eat a "proper" black olives, look for those without any Iron addition.

    If you want strong flavoured olives of black or green variety, make sure they are unpitted. Pitted olives have a depleted, almost washed out flavour versus the proper stuff.
