That's why they give a 2 hour trial and not the normal weekend, they know it can be completed story wise in one day's play.

This cost them a sale from me unfortunately.
Tried it the other week, last free trail, and it’s the worst Assassins Creed so far. I’ve been buying them physically since Assassins Creed black flag but this one certainly won’t be in my collection.

I've played and competed every one since the first. Black flag was one of the best and more recently Odyssey. Valhalla was just ok. I think Unisoft are running this series on reputation rather than actually producing decent games.

It was ok. I enjoyed playing an AC game again but once I'd completed it I put Valhalla on for the first time in ages, and it blew me and this away!

Really good game, great to see them go back to the AC2 structure. It’s a more focused game than the recent slogs.

Those saying it’s the worst AC game yet must not have endured AC3 and unity! Even the first AC isn’t that good in hindsight.

Yeah Mirage is great, not sure where all these negative nellies are coming from - among the AC fanbase this was well received. It's more of a throwback to the earlier games than the big bloated RPG-lite ones we've had recently.

I heard this was a lot closer to the originals of the series but I haven't played it myself. Worth a go for free to see if you enjoy it!

Why? I thought it was just as good - gameplay wise - as older ones, and was adequately priced. The story being a continuation of Odyssey is not a great idea, though.

Just like the old formula, albeit a lot shorter. The ending being a continuation of Valhalla was a disappointment though - especially since I had to read multiple pages on Fandom because I stopped playing Valhalla after 30m.
