Good price but AM4 is not a future proof socket.

Not everything needs to be 'future proof' you know. People can build a good pc with this and it will last a long time.

Anyone know if this will take a 5600G without needing a BIOS update, or if there's a way of updating the bios without having a CPU in it?

From what I’ve read online and in the reviews it’s fine. If your using a GPU and don’t need onboard graphics of the processor the 5600x would be a better choice as it gives faster access to the GPU in not using the same channels for the 5600G. Also full PCIe 4 support. The 5600x is more expensive but fluctuates and I saw it yesterday for £116 but back up to £145 today (edited)

I’ve currently got the B450M-A version, other than the extra slot/connectivity, am I likely to see any performance increase by upgrading to this board?
    Currently running a 5600x, 48gb RAM and a 3060ti (edited)

This has PCIe 4 which technically would be faster if your Gpu is PCIe 4 though tin pratice not sure how much difference it would make ?

Just bought from amazon a similar board Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX Motherboard for AMD AM4 CPUs) for £87 I was wondering if it would be worth for me to send it back (I suppose to have it delivered tomorrow) and get this one instead. I am building a pc for light gaming for my 10 years old boy. I bought on ebay a 3600X for £70 and I already got a spare 3060, m.2 drive, PSU, case and ram. Will this board make a difference? (edited)
