This ASUS TUF laptop houses some serious power. The NVIDIA RTX graphics card lets you take on the world in whatever game you want. 16GB of RAM makes sure you don't run into trouble when multitasking, and on the 17.3" Full HD screen, films will look just as bright and bold as they do on the big screen. Plus, with 1TB of SSD storage, loading and boot times are super-fast and responsive, right from start-up.

Super-fast loading with huge amounts of storage
The 1TB Solid State Drive (SSD) gives you the capacity to store documents and media, while ensuring speedy and dependable access to your files and programs. It's a great size if you're planning to use the laptop for gaming or video editing.

AMD Ryzen 7 processor
The AMD Ryzen 7 processor in this laptop lets you flex your creative muscles. You won't have any problems running demanding software, and power-hungry programs like image manipulation and video editing will work like a dream.

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics processing unit will provide next-gen gaming performance, thanks to enhanced 2nd generation Ray Tracing Cores and 3rd generation Tensor Cores. You'll be able to play all the latest titles without worrying about the settings, whilst providing enough grunt for you to enjoy smooth, quality VR experiences (VR headset sold separately). The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is DirectX 12 Ultimate compatible.

DirectX 12 Ultimate
DirectX 12 Ultimate is the latest version of the API, and is able to take your games to a whole new level of realism, thanks to supporting ray tracing, mesh shaders, variable rate shading, and sampler feedback.

Sorry if it's a daft question, would this be good for photoshop and some light video editinf

Yes, it'll be more than powerful enough, just make sure to download "Nvidia Studio Ready Drivers" instead of "Nvidia Game Ready Drivers", you'd still be able to game with the Studio ready drivers, so don't worry.

Is the AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS good enough for gaming?
    rev6's avatar
    Absolutely
  3. Dalethh's avatar
Is everyone enjoying there new machine! Got mine today 😁😁

I am very glad I managed to snag one during the 2h period while this deal was active, I happen to have a spare SN550 1TB which fits into the extra m.2 slot if you open the back of the laptop.
  4. johnsmith13's avatar
Good one. All great apart from the screen sRGB:62.5%, deal breaker for me
  5. Alyn009's avatar
Does it have Optimus enabled and dual channel ram? :/ thank you
    Optix_'s avatar
Im assuming this is 2 8gb ram sticks to make 16gb

This newer series of asus tuf laptops now include a mux switch so you can turn optimus on or off. I think but dont quote me on this that they are also advanced optimus enabled too.

I settled on the previous gen model of this with a 3060 and 11400h because my budget capped at 800. This laptop is superb for 1k, just as others have said dont get this for on the go photoshop or colour specific work unless you will always be on an external monitor.

Seems as if it’s a mistake based on one of the pics it states the graphics card is a 3060
    kgman's avatar
I can confirm there is no mistake, it definitely has the 3070 ti.
  7. Jimolya's avatar
Good price for the specs, heat.
But the screen is a bit poor and considering it has a 3070ti would expect hdmi 2.1 not 2.0

One of the USB-C 3.2 ports has support for "display port" but I'm not sure which version, if it's 1.4 then it'll support 4k@120Hz but unfortunately I don't know which version of display port it supports.
  8. o_s's avatar
Significantly worse, the GPU is 2 models down, which was the only justification for buying this laptop as screen is very poor. I would suggest holding off as more deals will come in this month. (Next gen GPUs for laptop being released next month)

Pity about the HD screen 🤮
    shayman1992's avatar

It's understandable for the price but at least it still has a high refresh rate
  10. deleted2881260's avatar
    Not QHD.
    shayman1992's avatar
    Author
Nope. Unfortunately they had to cut down on some areas to achieve this price, so it's a 1080p@144Hz still more than good enough for gaming because the screen is only 17" but the colour accuracy is not that great, so if you're thinking of editing videos or photos, I'll use an external screen for that.
  11. James_Harking's avatar
That's a lot of laptop for the money.

Nice one, thanks for this. Got some vouchers through my employer's discount scheme, 4.5% off so cost £955!
    Gerardus_Moolenschot's avatar
I did the same thing well chuffed and much better specs then the A17 on offer at Argos.
  18. AJ10's avatar
Good specs for the price. But the HD screen and poor colour accuracy is holding it back. Granted performance over quality but really that GPU + CPU combo needs to be paired with a 1440p panel.
    tipsy1973's avatar
I get where you are coming from about the cheap panels asus always use but a 1440p may be a nice idea but that costs. (edited)
  19. Dalethh's avatar
    Ordered thank you.

Only 10 left in stock it says on mine. (edited)
  20. kgman's avatar
Maybe check in a local store? For what it's worth, I'll be going down my local JL tomorrow to pick up the online order and will check if they have any in-store for the same price.
    skinrush's avatar
You can check which local stores have stock on the web page. Not many do.
  21. mrb30's avatar
Someone on ebay is selling 5 of these, ass
    PLEYOR's avatar
Yeah, I noticed that £1250. I was going to buy a laptop from him, but then I saw that and changed my mind.
  22. idontbyte's avatar
i would say the extra is worth it, as it's got a very much more powerful CPU and GPU.
  23. the_king8xN's avatar
I dont know much about laptops but looking to play red dead 2 on my 4k oled.
Is this sufficient. Do I need hdmi 2.1? Or is this going to be all I need? Thanks.
    cannibalwombat's avatar
This has a HDMI 2.0 port which is good for 4K at up to 60Hz, but it won't go up to 120Hz (which I'm assuming is the native refresh rate of your TV if it's a recent LG OLED!). So you could play RDR2 at up to 4K 60fps. Then again this graphics card would probably struggle to put out a higher framerate than that at 4K anyway!
  24. Yanto3000's avatar
Does anyone know if this had the USB4 Thunderbolt update?
    kgman's avatar
This laptop does not have a thunderbolt port
  25. gra_elg's avatar
Would this run flight sim 2020 no problem?
    ToxicNeo's avatar
Should do, my older Ryzen 5 and RTX 2060 do

Anyone know if this can be charged by usb type C type charger? I know they are starting to include a lot more higher end gaming laptops with type C now.
  28. Jarzie's avatar
How much is this laptop normally?
    ToxicNeo's avatar
It's £1199 on the Asus site
  29. CLG91's avatar
Is the screen that bad that it would be noticeable when gaming? Or is it pretty much an image/video editing requirement?

I've been playing Stadia on a Huawei tablet, but want a laptop for gaming (and some light cloud WFH stuff). I take it this screen would still be an upgrade on the tablet anyway?
    AJ10's avatar
No it’s not bad but it ain’t great either. That GPU which you pay extra for feels unnecessary with a HD screen. But for specs for this price is great. (edited)

Can you connect this to a QHD monitor via HDMI? If so, the screen on the laptop itself isn't a big issue for me.
    kndusr19's avatar
    Yes you can.

To be honest, I prefer a HD screen on a laptop....which helps with Microsoft teams, everyone complains that they find everything too small when I share my QHD screen, then end up playing zoom 'in' and 'out' for people

    Edit: typo (edited)
  35. Soundwavez's avatar
Don’t you get better performance if you connect to a monitor anyway?
    Soulie86's avatar
If you connect to a QHD or 4K screen your performance will slow down or tank (for 4k for sure) . Another full HD screen will not matter
  36. McSheng's avatar
    Oos

Hells bells, oos, popular one then

You probably won't find a 3070Ti again anytime soon for £1000, but you now know they can be that price. Ignore the accessories on your Amazon deal. It's over £600 more for a lessor GPU, and half the SSD space. It's also got a last gen CPU. The 40 series have also recently launched, but the laptops might be a while away. I'd be looking around the £1000 mark for a 30 series laptop. I'd only recommend paying more if you understand what you're buying
