Gather your party and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a mind flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons.

Gather Your Party
Choose from 12 classes and 11 races from the D&D Player's Handbook and create your own identity, or play as an Origin hero with a hand-crafted background. Or tangle with your inner corruption as the Dark Urge, a fully customisable Origin hero with its own unique mechanics and story. Whoever you choose to be, adventure, loot, battle and romance your way across the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Gather your party. Take the adventure online as a party of up to four.

An Expansive Original Story
Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

Next Generation RPG
Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a thriving world filled with characters, dangers, and deceit. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before. From shadow-cursed forests, to the magical caverns of the Underdark, to the sprawling city of Baldur’s Gate itself, your actions define the adventure, but your choices define your legacy. You will be remembered.

Experience Unprecedented Breadth & Depth
The Forgotten Realms are a vast, detailed, and diverse world, and there are secrets to be discovered all around you – verticality is a vital part of exploration. Sneak, dip, shove, climb, and jump as you journey from the depths of the Underdark to the glittering rooftops of Baldur’s Gate. Every choice you make drives your story forward, each decision leaving your mark on the world. Define your legacy, nurture relationships and create enemies, and solve problems your way. No two playthroughs will ever be the same.

4343975-N8Sys.jpg
Online Multiplayer for up to Four Players
Allows you to combine your forces in combat and simultaneously attack enemies, or split your party to each follow your own quests and agendas. Concoct the perfect plan together… or introduce an element of chaos when your friends least expect it. Relationships are complicated. Especially when you’ve got a parasite in your brain.

Origin Characters
7 unique Origin heroes offer a hand-crafted experience, each with their own unique traits, agenda, and outlook on the world. Their stories intersect with the overarching narrative, and your choices will determine whether those stories end in redemption, salvation, domination, or one of many other outcomes. Play as an Origin and enjoy their stories, or recruit them to fight alongside you.

Evolved Turn-Based Combat
Based on the D&D 5e ruleset. Team-based initiative, advantage and disadvantage, and roll modifiers join an advanced AI, expanded environmental interactions, and a new fluidity in combat that rewards strategy and foresight. Three difficulty settings allow you to customise the challenge of combat. Enable weighted dice to help sway the battle, or play on Tactician mode for a hardcore experience.

Does adding the Digital Deluxe Edition DLC at £7 add anything (meaningful) to the game?

It's all 100% cosmetic only though I am personally a fan of the helmet myself as it sometimes gives you race exclusive dialogue options that you wouldn't normally get

It feels like a lot considering it's been out a little while but I understand there is no reason atm to discount it more. And I'm sure it's as good as everyone says. Will get to it some day!

It does speak magnitudes on why it's still so expensive imo, personally I bought it twice at full price and have zero regrets. Though can respect why this price isn't for everyone, hopefully for you and others it comes down to your trigger price, it really is a bloody damn good game! (edited)

It's not expensive you consider the sheer amount of time you will put into this, hundreds of hours potentially for £42!

And that's just in character creation! I think I'm on about 100ish hours and I haven't made it out of Act 1 yet, I keep restarting to make another character

Have gone through it all on Xbox with a friend though and either way agree with you. There's a reason it won so many awards

Considering you get at least a hundred hours of quality time out of this game... Not crazy at all.

Weird! Steam told me I had stuff on sale on my wish list this morning but it didn't for this one!
I have money in my account ready to buy something and I really told myself THIS!

So expensive though, but no doubt it will be amazing but the issue is everything at once!! Damn man. It's always the case for RPG / Survival Crafting game players. Scarce months and then just lots all together. This years incredible for me, practically a new game every month but I am behind because I am refusing to buy anything until I finish my older games haha.

I'll be busy for the next 2 months at least so hopefully this will be cheaper by then but I am tempted to buy it now and wait but then I know I will just be like "I HAVE TO PLAY THEM ALL!" lol

Wow, you have a lot of thoughts! I’d just buy it mate. One life

I picked it up with the fiver off you mention and felt it would have been worth it at full price. One of the best games I've played in years. Note that's coming from a total tightwad!

i just needed a sale to justify the purchase to myself. Knowing full well it'd be worth the price of admission regardless haha

Wow the price is still crazy. I remember I picked it up on Early Access with some discount for about £20-25.

It's a decent game, but I must admit I was a bit underwhelmed by the first two acts... So many rolls didn't go our way and I think we may have ended up literally killing every NPC as a result - having no merchants to trade with was a bummer. But Act 3 is total genius, so I am glad we persevered.

The replayability is great, play it solo, or with a group. I have 100 hours on this game so far and im kinda looking forward to restarting and playing very differently.

Never been a fan of turn based games and I've tried multiple times to get through Divinity 2 and just kept abandoning it whenever a long winded turn based fight happens. Its not the difficulty, I've even set it to easy, i just find it long and boring.

I know this will be the same but still very tempted to give it a go at this price.

Is it still a dog to play on steam deck or has patches over the months improved things ?
  13. darkstryder360's avatar
Masterpiece of a game. But as a newbie to D&D, and this genre, it was a huge learning curve.

Only persevered because a lot of my friends were playing through at the same time. In the end, had 120 hours into it, and I still skipped a lot of "side quests" and exploring.

Definitely not for everyone though, I can see a lot of people being turned off.
