Why is it going so cheap? Anybody who has this game, is it any good?

It's a good game. I got it as a present at launch and been having a lot of fun with it, at this price point it's a no brainer imo. (edited)

Even though I wish this wasn't the case but the trend with most Battlefield games over the past few years is (speaking from an Xbox One owners perspective but may be the case for other platforms);

1. Game released
2. Not long after release you can buy it for about half the price or less in either some deal on Xblive marketplace or online
3. Maybe a year later you get given it for free with Games with Gold

I'm gonna hold out for the free version

Agreed. Editorially, the site is a mess. At one point there was a deal for a game at a) ShopTo, b) ShopTo’s eBay, and c) ShopTo’s eBay but using a code.

And they sent out an email saying b) was hottest even though c) was cheaper. That’s exactly why you should have one thread with all the relevant info. People are too concerned with self-promotion and heat rather than coherent structure and user-friendliness.

The price is OK. I love BF but I still cannot bring myself to buy this. The way EA have treated the fan-base is disgusting. As well as telling the fans 'not to buy it if they don't like it' they sell the product as a service and drip feed the content as a way of retaining the player-base.

As for the game. It is only half a game and they are mutating it into Star Wars Battlefront. Even the menus look the same. TTD is ridiculous. Balance is borked. Vehicles are pointless. They have rendered the Medic useless. No progression. Where's the progression from BF4? And of course there is the whole re-writing of WW2 and sticking a middle finger up to WW2 veterans.

it is not DICE's fault because previous BFs have been great. I still like and play BF1 but since EA came on-board they have ruined the franchise. EA have got DICE under the kosh by squeezing a game a year out of them. BF4 took 3 years to make. BFV took a year and it shows because it is not finished.

Brilliant game it's just had a lot of negativity but it's getting better. I can't remember a BF game that hasn't had issue's at launch.

Hot. Sitting here wondering why I would ever pay a release price for anything ever again.

For this price it's a bargain.
Didn't play on console just on PC but I do like the game.
On the 17th January we're getting a new map with the new Tides of War chapter. Don't understand how people say that BF1 is better.
BF1 has worse guns and gunplay, tanks and airplanes feel stif. The only part I would give the edge to BF1 is the maps but not that much. People forget that on launch we didn't have some of the amazing maps that came in the DLC later on.

I think it's abit boring. Multiplayer gets stale pretty fast...there is a big emphasis on squad play but if you play solo online and play with randoms teamwork is non-existant. If you have a few friends to play this with I can see it being loads of fun. The multiplayer fails to keep me engaged and keep bringing me back to play another game.

Coming over from COD I do miss killstreaks. it was a big incentive for me to keep playing in the hope of getting a savage killstreak but that's just me.

There are about 5/6 short campaigns (2 hour playtimes) which are good you learn about history too like the origins of the SAS.

The marketing for this game was billiant.

Looking back at my post I never used the words ‘It’s Brilliant buy it now’? Either way while you have my attention let’s go over yours points:

Point 1 ‘crap maps’ in my opinion these are some of the best maps on a battlefield game.
Points 2 ‘Few weapons’ yes true but these are growing. 4 have been added since the Tides of War event.
Point 3 ‘less maps than Bf1 and there will be less DLC’ the game has been out since November give it some time. Also we had to pay for a premium pass to get new maps on BF1, at release that was a extra £39.99 all DLC for BFV will be free.
Point 4 ‘Sjw garbage’ I have no idea what you are referring to?
Point 5 ‘Buggy progression system’ I’m level up absolutely fine, I’ve had no issues.
Point 6 ‘only British and German factions’ AGAIN it was released in November give it time more is coming.
