By the time the waters boiling, this micro rice is done.

Ps. You forgot washing up the pan and maybe sieve / strainer

I can't remember the last time I have had Uncle Ben's. Is there a noticeable difference between this and ownbrand microwave rice? I've seen Uncle Ben's for up to £2. You can get Asda/Sainsburys ownbrand for as little as 40p if I recall correctly.

Usually rice is just going to get covered in chilli/curry anyway, so, unless you are doing some proper cooking (which you'd probably avoid microwave rice anyway), is there a difference I'm not seeing?

I don't personally notice any difference and have quite often gone for supermarket branded cheap stuff.

I do "proper" cooking and still use micro rice, for me it's just so much more convenient.
