sorted byI then looked more closely at a non rcd version I had been using as a waterproof extension lead, and it showed signs of warping due to heat around the socket holes.
I mentioned it to a work colleague who said he had a similar experience with the same brand.
I checked out amazon reviews and there are multiple posts with pictures showing various levels of melting or fire damage.
AVOID!
