Looks like Biggles' adventures are being re-released in eBook (and some in hardback), separated into "trilogy" series. This is the only free one though.

War is declared, and Biggles is ready for action!

September 1939. Britain has declared war on Germany. Major James Bigglesworth, known to his friends as ‘Biggles’, is eager to get straight into the action alongside old friends Algernon ‘Algy’ Lacey and ‘Ginger’ Hebblethwaite. They don’t have to wait long.

The British government has covertly acquired a small island in the Baltic, off the north coast of Germany. The island is unremarkable save for one feature: a natural sea cave, unknown to the Germans, large enough to house several aircraft.

Biggles’ orders: wreak havoc on German forces for as long as possible without compromising the location of the secret base. It’s a dangerous mission, for the might of the enemy military machine will be bent on finding them, led by Biggles’ old nemesis, Erich von Stalhein.

Absolute flashback. I forgot they made a ‘Biggles’ movie. Loved it as a kid. Not seen it for 30 odd years or something. I fear it won’t have aged well, if ever it was any good

The only quality route in the blast shelter quarry just below Bus Stop. Go through the kissing gate opposite the bus turning circle and then its on your left. Biggles Flies Undone follows the obvious slab from 1/3 height.

Well this certainly takes me back a long time. Heat for the nostalgia.

Same here, the late 70s to early 80s for me. You? (edited)

Loved the 80s film its one franchise they never made any series of or even more modern movies

Yeah. I absolutely agree, the ending of the movie even left it open for another one.

Innerspace was another example of this too. (edited)

W E Johns used to live just round the corner from me. There's a plaque on the wall of the house. It's a thatched cottage, called, rather unimaginatively, 'Thatched Cottage'. (edited)

there are nearly 100 of the original stories, i made it to about 70ish a few years ago before they lost their magic. The ones set during the two world wars are the best.

I seem to remember reading a 'Boy biggles in India' as a schoolchild. Was I dreaming or did that series really exist
