YouTube vids show this absolutely eating through lawns. We have a few patches of thicker faster growing grass on our small own so will report back on performance today.

Please do. I only have a 25m2 lawn from turf I laid 2 weeks ago looking to do the first cut and maintain afterwards. Spending £100 on an electric lawnmower seems like overkill for this.

if I hadn't just bought the einhell 30cm mower for 30 quid from very (using voucher) I'd have probably jumped at this price

and yes I have a very small patch of grass to cut so 30cm or 38cm won't make any difference to me

I used to work in an industry where we had to test out an array of different Lawn Mower models, I used to look down on these push types as cheap, nasty basic things from a past age. But, having tested one out i was really impressed by them. Without going into to much detail, this kind of rotary blade mower (these and the Suffolk Punch types) gives a clean horizontal cut to the blade of grass, the usual mowers and trimmers rip the blades of grass giving an uneven, jagged cut.

as an owner, fine for a small consistent lawn however the cutting experience is similar to using blunt scissors to cut a towel

Had one for 2 years now. Far superior to my old petrol one. Better cut, no running costs, no sharpening, nothing to service, nothing to go wrong, no more physical effort than the petrol one, really light, suspect It'll last forever. Best results if you mow often, then will also self mulch. Plus, the world is burning - we should have one....

Oh god no. I bought this years ago when it was £30 and had a remarkable amount of positive reviews that I am now suspicious about. It was just unusable in practice. There were no proper instructions on how to adjust the bite beween the blades and cutting edge and I'm suspicious it was just poorly set up and possibly a dud. But even with the lawn cut low it could barely go a few feet without jamming and even those were painfull. The grass catcher did not work properly. In the end it was just a waste of money that I should have sent back. I was really enthusiastic on the idea before I actually got it.

I'm on my 2nd of these mowers, 1st lasted 5/6 years and was still cutting OK, but these give a great cut on a small/medium lawn (that's most people), lovely stripes, great exercise, no fuel/energy bills. Great for the environment, your health and your pocket; not so great for lazy people. Great price, what's not to like?

Pushing and constant jamming up of the wheels and blades. Sometimes so bad the wheels dig into the lawn trying to push it only to ruin it. Even if using it makes Miss Thunburg happy and warm inside, I will stick to the leccy one.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

You have to push it yourself?!

I can only imagine that people who give bad reviews for this have never tried using one.
The average UK lawn is maybe 25m2 and unless it's overgrown, you have a disability or are just a lazy fecker, there's no need to have electric, petrol or battery (that's still electric by the way).
This is really easy to use and very rewarding with stripes your neighbours will envy you of.

The only reason I would buy this is to mow the beach to troll myself that I have truly failed in life.

Fakespot review of 2.9 out of 5 not the best.

Bought this, returned right after, height adjustment is weird and not intuitive, not to mention you have to use it very often to do not let it grow to high because then it will be a nightmare.
  17. hotshot's avatar
It's easier than the alternatives to use often though just grab it and it's ready even in wet conditions.

I’ve got this and it’s generally pretty good but does struggle as soon as lawn gets a little long. I’ve taken chunks of lawn out where I’m powering and the wheels lock up due to grass thickness and it skids and ruins grass. My fault but generally alright.
