I replaced my cheapo pillar drill with this thing and regret absolutely nothing. I did upgrade the chuck for finer metal work as there’s a bit of play in the one that comes with it. Absolutely fine for woodwork.

The digital speed adjustment is a huge time saver vs moving belts. The laser is accurate. I also added a knob to the wheel for greater control.

Sure, it isn’t cheap, but it’s damn convenient. I love mine

Can you link to what chuck you got? I bought this drill last year for woodwork and there’s a bit of play too.

I don't know what kind of customers is this DIY thing aimed for... It's seems to have a bunch of features that nobody needs on a tool like this (featuritis)

For light DIY, any £100 or less drill will do the trick.

Or you can buy a serious professional pillar drill for that kind of money.
