Great for getting into Full Frame photography. I know the voucher is applied to your account and you have to spend it with Amazon but you will probably need a lens.

Interesting read that might make you think twice about buying a new camera rather than a second hand one.

You're paying for autofocus these days. Anything after 2012 has adequate pixel count, low noise and no fixed pattern noise

Nice OP. Seems good price for full frame

Great light weight full frame camera.

I've had it around 3 weeks and am really pleased with it. The photos I've taken with it are as good, if not better, as the Nikon D750 I used to have. (edited)

Cropped 4K video with no DPAF? No thanks. I’d rather get the other deal posted below this one, the R50 which shoots un-cropped 4K 10-bit video with that great Canon DPAF. Yes it’s an APSC camera as opposed to full frame, aimed at vloggers but it’s cheaper than the RP.

When you say "no DPAF", that limitation only occurs in 4K video shooting, doesn't it? Dual Pixel AutoFocus is available in 1080p video and stills photography, I believe.

I agree this camera may not appeal to budding Christopher Nolan's, but for an old-school stills photographer, I think there's a lot to like at this price.

Bring back proper photography, not that it ever left.

    Fuji feel the same way.

I find it strange that every time I come on a deal about a still camera the first comment is always about Video capability. Perhaps buy a video camera if that's your main bag?

I was lucky enough to get this deal with the cash back before it went out of stock with cameracentre. Great camera!

Decent camera for the money. It has its limitations and the battery life sucks, but it's still a good entry point for someone who wants to get into the RF mount and might need to save money for lenses. Also not a bad option for a backup body as it's very small and lightweight

Discount applies to the R8 body as well - currently at £1680.62 - making it £1538.95, after the £141.67 voucher is received.

Edit: Though, if you *do* happen to be considering the R8, there's £170 cashback available through Canon. Fforde's Photographic has it for £1689 - £170 cashback, making it £1519. Cashback ends August 8th.

N.B. Canon's cashback is *NOT* available if bought through Amazon.

I bought an R8 with the intent of having the smallest full-frame I could get for travel, and it’s very good for that.

The R8 is quite a significant upgrade over this model… basically an R6 internals inside the RP body.

I do quite fancy upgrading my RP for an R8 as the slow shutter speed does catch me out… not too bothered about the AF defecting animals or cars!

Nice. The voucher can be applied towards the adapter or a lens.

Maybe a few year old - but this was a real step up from my old (apc) canon d60… only thing which lets it down is lack of budget native RF lenses (and lack of 3rd party compatibility) - i sold all
my old efs kit on ebay and replaced it with the RF 24-240 F4 and the RF 50mm - which i tend to use much more now - due to making this camera tiny. (edited)

Seems a good price but looks very plasticky and quite a small camera. Top plate reminds me of a cheap DSLR like a Nikon 3100. You don't often see a FF camera looking this basic. It is a good deal based upon price if it is what you are after.

How many FF cameras start at a g though even the a7 2 and 3 is still over this price so have to be made to a budget

For Estate Agents (Me) what the cheapest wide angle lens available for this?

Ken Rockwell thinks highly of that camera. I managed to get an even better deal (with the current Canon £170 cash back offer that finishes tomorrow) from a camera shop on Friday who must have been selling their last few off as said was out of stock after I'd ordered mine. I bought a 50mm Canon R lens from Amazon to go with it, that was meant to be brand new but when I looked at it in the light I could see light marks on the side, like someone with dirty/greasy hands had been holding it and the glass had some dots inside it so have returned it. It would have still been worth the cost even lightly used but they should have said it was a returned lens and I wanted brand new so if I don't like it then can sell it on. It's put me off buying camera equipment from Amazon even though they always seem to be the cheapest. I recommend Camera Price Buster for researching prices on camera equipment. (edited)

I would have thought you can pick up a decent used RF 50mm f1.8 for less than £100 on ebay.
