Customers like the picture quality, value, and quality of the scanner. For example, they mention that it produces basic images of reasonable quality, it's good value for money, and that it does a really good job including photos. They also like the portability, ease of installation, and ease of use. That said, opinions are mixed on performance, and USB connection.
Plus you save £11, making it the cheapest price around, using Amazon 20% voucher.

    Cheers op.

Picked up the LiDE 400 as that had the 20% off too.

What's the main difference between the 300 and the 400? Is it only the USB cable type?

The last time a purely flatbed scanner was posted was in Oct21... oddly it was the same one & cost £12.50 from Tesco Leicester hotukdeals.com/dea…412

It is 20% or £11 cheaper than Currys/Argos etc. You are not voting on whether you want it or not, it is a deal? (edited)

Will this scan negs/transparencies for printing or do I need a specialist backlit scanner for that?

It's not ideal as it doesn't have a transparency unit, however you can "jerry rig" one by using a tablet as a light source. Place the negative on the scanner bed, then cover it with your tablet displaying a white page. Scan as normal and invert the colours - it'll do for a 2400dpi scan, anything better needs a higher DPI and a proper negative scanner. (The last SCSI based one I used cost over £30k (£15k for the hardware and over £15k for the software! It took about 3 minutes to scan a single 35mm negative!)

Hoping someone will post a deal for a fax machine so I can finish my office refurb

Just to clarify, is there a use case here due to an increased scanning res to better scan pictures etc?

I am a fine artist and calligrapher, so when I scan, for example to produce prints or manipulate fine art, this is perfect for my purpose whereas scanning with a phone would not suffice.

Given most 3 in 1 printers have a scanner you might be better paying a bit extra for more. Saves space too.

To be honest the printers costing not much more to buy will cost more to run especially if you use them to print things.

Not much call for scanners nowadays.
Have one at work but almost always use the scanner app on my phone instead for documents.
    CRWAB's avatar
As someone who had to do a bit of scanning last year for some important docs I started with my phone. It was "fine", but honestly its never going to be as accurate as a dedicated scanner.
If you are just scanning a quote/receipt/whatever phone is fine, but if you wanna take HQ scans of things like deeds, legal stuff etc, a scanner is definitely better.

I ended up routing through my loft for mine!

Well I've voted hot, cheaper than my LiDE 220 in 2015

Used my lide scanner a lot this week. Perfect clear scans and I wouldn't be without it.

Totally agree. My Epson 3 in 1 always crashes when scanning multiple pages into pdf.
I have the Lide 400 and Lide 120 and they are both amazing. Quality is also above any 3 in 1 I had. I like that you can throw several prints (6x4 or smaller) and it will scan them into separate files in one go (edited)

My canon scanner has been in use since forever- and I love it.. was a lifesaver last year when I had to scan a ton of docs for a neighbour who was in a 'legal pickle'.

The last time I used a stand alone scanner it had a SCSI connection...
