Do Canon do a similar ink service sub like HP?

If it's any help, and you're a low ink user like myself, it's probably best to ditch the Ink Sub Service and wait for official ink pack releases to surface on Amazon. Works out way cheaper, or at least it did for me. Think it's cost me £18.85 for 18 Months, where I can now get official XL Colour Ink cartridges for £12.95 off amazon. Would steer clear of those modified cheap Ink Cartridges from places like eBay, they'll wreck your printer over time, as it did with my previous printer (edited)

My personal view fwiw. Don't buy an inkjet unless you use it every day, or at least regularly. I went through a few inkjet printers for photos but only sporadically and the first attempt to print anything always failed, one or more of the jets clogged up so wasting the expensive photo paper and then using half the ink in the cartridge and several minutes going through the head-cleaning process - yet again. It cost me a packet in ink for a few successful prints.
I bought a Dell colour laser printer about 15 years ago and gives perfect results every time, even if it's been a month since I last printed on it and cartridges last for ages.

I concur. I've got a Xerox colour laser printer about ten years old low usage. Compatible toner cartridges are cheap and it still is going strong. I bet new ones have chipped toner though.

We have a Canon Pixma printer (not this exact model) and it's absolute garbage.

The software will hurt your soul and it jams more than the Hartleys Jam Factory.

I have this exact printer and in my own personal experience it's been good. I don't print everyday, just the odd occasion where I need a bank statement printed etc. But i haven't had any issues with it at all.

How do you get your ink cartridges? How long do they last and how much do they cost? My similar spec HP instant ink is playing up and after using it occasionally for the last 6 years, I may retire it despite I was very happy with it.
Instant ink was great for me, too. New cartridge whenever the old one gets clogged, jets cleaning at a cost of a single page, rollover of unused pages, 99p per month. Brilliant!
