Good price for a good printer - image and text quality very good, scanner very quick. Quiet to use, small size, wireless printing works very well. As with all these types of printers, if you print lots - especially colour- you might be better looking elsewhere, otherwise recommended

Cost for new ink is shocking.

£17 for the smallest black ink for a yield of 180 pages. So that's 9p per page without even taking into consideration the cost of electricity. (edited)

Read this deal before plumping for an HP Envy. Had 3 Canons in the last 15 years. Not really impressed with their durability. One lasted just over a year then went dead. The latest is printing black with a double vision effect and I've exhausted all the 'cures'.

For low profile home printers there are now only 2 brands it seems - Canon and HP. Chose the HP Envy 6020e based on appearance and the fact it has a concealed paper tray.

I have a Canon Pixma which won't connect to my ThinkPad because drivers can't be updated. I was grumpy but then looked at my order history and had actually bought it in 2008! So can't complain about Canon longevity myself...

Was about to buy a new printer after my Canon turned itself into a brick 2 plus months ago and it turns out it was an issue with one of rhe cloud printing services and now that has been fixed, the printer works again. Glad I didn't throw it away. It is 6 yrs old and still works fine.

I've always avoided using any Cloud printing, everything stays inside my home WiFI. Thus I skipped all the cloud and user account stuff with HP this time around. Initially it looked like the HP cannot scan without an account, however there is a separate 'HP Scan and Capture' Windows app that solves it. When my earlier Canon bricked after just over 1 year, the power would not even turn on.

With regards to printers packing up! I'm on the 3rd HP breaking down, all around a year and a half. Looking for another brand that might be reliable.
