Thanks for this. I think I'm going to hold out for the Aquis, I'm not the most refined Ambassador, more a footman, so I think I'll need something that can take the knocks. (y)

...and as an ambassador, you would need to be busy really spoiling us.

Very different watches. I bought an aquis. Heavy, well made, good looking, robust, daily watch. I bought this, well made, but very light, not something you'd wear day in day out, unless you're an ambassador perhaps. Ended up sending it back, it was just a bit light for me.

Good price. I'm after a Oris Aquis but seriously tempted at this price Vs £1280 for the Aquis Black

Nice price and a handsome watch. Pretty big for a dressy diver at 42mm, wrist shots confirm as much. Looks to wear bigger than even the number suggests.

Grand Seiko Heritage Collection Black Automatic Mens Watch £4725 Chisholm Hunter

Another specialist but great Grand Seiko deal.

I'm not sure, it's just something that came up on Google when I searched GS, I'd have thought it might be a wee bit smaller but I can't say for definite

The textured dial on this watch makes it stand out at the price. I always look for a special dial with GS. Definitely considering this.

Is that 43mm?

Good to check you are properly covered. I have my house contents and building insurance as well as valuables covered one one policy and at some point I wlll have to get the rings etc revalued too. Insurance in this climate are likely to be very tight in paying out. So far i cant fault M&S or John Lewis but a tad pricey so i have to swap each year as that is the only way i can get a decent price.

It’s porn to you. Raising your blood pressure until you pull the trigger on a GS :) do iiiiiittttttt!

Another cracking deal

Locks like a wall clock! 25mm luv width... wow

Not the same watch, but it is the same size from Longines. Don't know his wrist size but he looks over 7 inches.

Lol. Please do share if you find a wrist shot. I’m curious now

Wrist shot reqd...........or upper arm shot!!

I missed that. That’s crazy!

@hboss @motherfunk Don’t worry about the troll guys, he does this frequently just to get a reaction. Hope someone benefited from this deal. Mixed reaction on HUKD but whatever stock they had seems to have sold fast.

Lol Grand Seiko is up there.

If i was spending over 2k on a watch then Grand Seiko is the only brand i would consider.

Oos. I would buy a GS other many brands. Fact that it's so nicely finished, in house amazing quality movements, and is for connoisseur. Less likely to get your arm sliced by a moped gang

True, maybe a car then, that tells the time too plus, it's a car

There is a slight model reference difference but Mens Watch SBGJ217G when used as a search also shows the same company selling it for 4200

I owned this, and for my money it turned out to be just too big for a dressy watch. It's a lovely looking watch, but I moved it on not long after buying. The fact there's no second hand means it's perfect for a quartz movement.

If you they included a seconds hand in the auto version of this, I would definitely pay 200 more and get an auto with an ace movement.

There was a time where Rado was very popular. Still isin some circles. Its just there are so many brands out now. Obvious ones that have endured are Roles and Omega. Even Tags are not as cool as they once were. It's all about who is rocking your watched. ROLEX is ROLEX, but Omega always have bond and numerous a listers.

Cannot get either code to work :(

For some reason website has put two watches of the same kind. One accepts 20% code and the other accepts 10% code. So make sure you’re using the links also it might be worth making an account first and trying again. Hope you get it. It is a nice looking watch in my opinion.

I understand what you mean by that but those happened before the quartz crisis when brands were independent and actually used in house mechanical movements and actually R&D’ing. Not in the world of mass produced overpriced jewellery like watches. Those days are gone and they are not the same companies anymore. There a very sophisticated quartz movements but that particular watch is just not special nor Rado uses any interesting movements. They are bog standart. 5-10 dollar a pop quartz movements in some shiny cases. Lookup F.P Journe’s Quartz movement for innovation. Tag Heuer was pinnacle of watch making when they were independent, look at them now trying to sell semi-standart ETA movements calling them “Calibre 5” in obnoxious looking watches. Imho only watch that Tag should be selling is “Monaco” everything else is for the people who window shops watches. I don’t value Tag or early Hublots (they actually started innovating about 6-7 years ago), Longines has a style at least and when they use auto they use higher grade movements. Raymond Weil is probably less obnoxious than a Tag and needs to be bought on discount. There is a certain level of watches whether be owned by Swatch or Seiko or LVMH or etc. They are just the same except looks. Then there is the second level where things get interesting but Rado is just not one of them. I modified mechanical watches, bought and sold so many. Kept a close eye to news coming out of watch world since I’m 19, 31 now. When I say news I don’t mean shiny ceramic bracelets. Trust me Rado is a fashion watch. It wasn’t used to be but it is now, just like a Tag. An example of an Interesting and valuable watch in the current market is “Nomos” before going to higher price bracket. Or Seiko Presage or above are great value. There is a whole other world out there where the likes Tag, Rado, Raymond Weil are not considered worth talking and I don’t mean because it’s their monetary value but because they don’t bring anything interesting. Go on to and hang in there for a while, some great knowledgeable people. My user name is the same on that forum. Edit: Regarding Audi and Skoda debate, I’d personally get a Skoda anyday over and Audi. :D

Only difference between Audi and Skoda is different body shape. Apart from that they use same engine, same DSG gear box, same everything but people still pay the premium price and prefer to buy an Audi. Casio (edifice range) make incredibly reliable great quality quartz watches but that won't stop people from buying Tag Huer, Raymond weil, Longines etc. Regarding innovations "Rado" brought to watch making please don't take my word just look up on Wikipedia. Also there are a lot of old blokes with more money than sense who want to be cool and trendy who because of eyesight decline really like a big face so they can actually see the time at a glance without squinting or holding their wrist four inches from their face. Speaking as one.

Any photos on wrist mate? It hung to pull the trigger

I have the PADI one, it's a big watch but once on the wrist it wears smaller. I have a large wrist but that is the general consensus

Anybody purchase one? Live the padi version. Wondered what like on small wrists

Even more weird as high beat movement has got visible advantage over lower beat movement- smoother sweep seconds hand. Which this one haven't got;)

The user is lucky to get such a nice gift. I have tried the watch. It is really nice. As I said to the other fellow poster, I don't mind the lack of seconds. It is a dress watch.

Are you sure? This has the standard 40mm Hamilton case that is common on all the jazz line. Have you tried any one? This being thinner sits even nicer on the wrist. I have the 38 intramatic. I will take a picture on my wrist and share tomorrow so you can get an idea. (my wrist is big but will share size for reference.)

My intramatic doesn't either. I thought it would bother me it didn't at all. Makes the watch a simpler dressier piece. I can't buy it... I wish. Saving money for the grail. But it is a gorgeous watch.

This is lovely unfortunately I need a 38mm I have very skinny wrists

Can't call a Rado rota in house. It's an ETA full stop

In house but based on ETA . Same asTissot Powermatic 80 . All owned by the Swatch group.

Nice watch. Just can't wear it anywhere right now. My current one is still set on pre summer time!

Yes but watches just look nicer, when designed with the correct strap

Not my style of watch, but heat for the price. They could have save some money on this and had a solid back. On some watches the mechanism is a piece of art. On some it's purely functional, and not much to look at, this fall into the functional section.

Daniel Wellington watches are extruded from a tube, in one piece.
