Can't help but feel that Converse are too expensive given that they only seem to last a year for me before the rubber starts tearing where the foot hinges. Has anyone got a solution for that?

Stop buying them. Honestly, that’s the only solution I found. I used to almost exclusively wear Converse and Vans til I realised both of them lasted a year at most before the soles started to fall apart. So many perfectly good shoes thrown away where the uppers were spotless but the soles were cracked and split.

Swapped over to boots and have had the same pair for years now, soles still look pretty much as they did when I bought them bar a few scuffs.
