Price of Firecuda 530 was reasonable at some point if you need higher endurance (I don't really care though would just buy another one if it wears out given the price diff).
It's a combination of that, but more so the fact that most of the major NAND producers have been scaling back production in the last Month or so, resulting in an increase of the prices of the 'big brands' that use their NAND.
The initial price crash was down to overproduction and lack of demand at the time.
Micron and SK Hynix both posted losses of around $2.3 BILLION EACH in the 2nd quarter of 2023.
Now they're trying to scrape back some of those losses by reducing production, therefore creating a bigger demand.
YMTC (whose NAND goes into most of the smaller branded drives, the majority of which are produced by BiWin) have shown no sign of scaling back production (yet), which is why the price of the smaller brands (Netac/Silicon Power/fanxiang/Integral/ADATA/etc) haven't changed much (some have, but not as much as the big brands).
Oddly, Corsair uses Micron NAND but you can still pick up some of their drives (like this one) for fairly decent prices, though they have gone up since the rather nice MP600 Pro NH for £84 deal.
I think think one will jump back up in price fairly soon. (edited)
This is similar to what Guru3D found, but techpowerup found 3.6GB/s or so. Not sure why the huge difference but I see this a lot with SSD benchmarks. Maybe because some techpowerup reviews use older platforms. This MP600 Pro LPX I believe should perform the same as a Pro XT.
Also the NV7000 has a warranty void sticker covering one of the heatsink screws, which Corsair doesn't do. (edited)
But TBH, it is not particularly good value.
This is the Firecuda 530 I mentioned earlier. At £110, I would definitely go for 530 over this.
This is a cracker of a deal though -

Basically a slightly modified KC3000.
Also, I saw you mention the endurance of the 530 above. The TBW numbers actually have very little to do with the endurance of a drive, it's just the amount of wear a brand will let you reach for them to replace it under warranty.
Kingston switched the TBW of the 2TB 520 from 3600 to 1200 even though it still has the same NAND as before.
I had a 1TB Crucial MX500 that hit around doubled it's TBW before I replaced it (needed a bigger scratch drive).
I like to think it's still out there somewhere happily plodding along. (edited)
I got one because I was thoroughly impressed with my MP600 Pro XT 2TB which did a full write in only 5.5 minutes, hopefully this one will be just as good.
Got a cheap Fanxiang S101 240GB for a recovery Windows install, that took 30 minutes (for 1/8 of the writes). NV7000 2TB took 29 minutes, so was much slower for me.
Not everyone is looking for sustained performance but my Pro XT benchmarks really well in all categories, it's just a great SSD that doesn't seem to cut corners. I am now praying that this will be the same.
I don't think they will go much lower than this, maybe a few quid, but not much because the top SATA SSDs are not that much cheaper or are similarly priced, and these can't really go for any less than those do. (edited)
