The E variant should be similar quality to the X variant. But there are some differences. Here's a quote from Reddit:

"the 850e is more compact size, uses a 120mm fan instead of 135mm, different manufacturer and design, cheaper non-Japanese capacitors, lower temperature rating 40°C vs 50°C on the RMx, shorter warranty. "

Be aware that many people have had issues with noisy grinding/clicking fans with CorSair PSUs. Seems to mostly affect this model. I bought mine last week and the issue was there. I returned it for a MSI one. A lot more expensive at £140 though. I paid £110 for my CorSair. The CorSair one would have been a bargain otherwise. Good luck!

Corsair PSUs are generally excellent. But see my comment below about the E variant.

I brought the RM850x Shift a few weeks back and been flawless so far. Could be just this model that has the issue

I have this exact psu and it’s excellent. It’s pretty silent I can’t fault it.

Coming up as £115.98 for me.

I see. Need to select ADMI supplier option. (edited)

I'm using Corsair RM850X and never have that issue. Maybe it's only for the E variant.

My Kolink Continuum PSU broke on Friday. Needed a quick replacement to see me through whilst I get the Kolink replaced. Looked at the RM850e. But I went for the Be Quiet! 850W System Power 10 PSU. It is also supplied by ADMI via Amazon and only £89.95 amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BJVKQVCF.

Looks to be on a par with the RM850e minus the modular cables. Anyway the Be Quiet! arrived in less than 24 hours and fitted it today and all fine. My Ryzen 5950x plus RTX3090 can pull 650 watts plus from the wall when stress testing and the Be Quiet! handled it all fine. (edited)
