This is gonna get a whole lot CHEAPER. Micron is (rightfully) banned in China as a response to the trade-war that the USA is waging on Chinese hitech. Micron has no choice but to cut prices, and will try to survive by being the lower cost alternative to punters outside of China. Flash and RAM.

Since when is DDR4 RAM for consumer products classed as 'Critical Information Infrastructure'?
Don't let the Facts get in the way of a good story, eh? Micron have 3 x facilities in China! Although the RAM is made in Taiwan, it is assembled and distributed in and from China, in Xi'an. The REAL reason it is cheap is simply a flood in the market of old tech, the big boys are not buying it (Dell, HP, Lenovo) and that Assembly Plant is back up to full capacity recently since COVID, so they need to off-load it somewhere. For everyone else, pick it up now whilst it is cheap and before the lion's share of their facility, as with everyone else, moves over to DDR5. Don't wait for it to become cheap(er), as it will get expensive very, very quickly as stocks dry up.

Oi, Crucial. I'll pay this for CL16 but with this CL22 garbagio you're taking the proverbial.

for the people that have an OEM motherboard without XMP support this is perfect and the performance penalty is not that bad compared the CL16, good price whilst there are no conflicts in the chip heaven (edited)

difference between cl16 and cl22 is miniumal, at £19.97 this is a bargain.

totally agree, 90% of the time there will be something else bottlenecking the system other than RAM

Worth noting that this will be 3200mhz JEDEC spec, so not reliant on XMP to hit that speed. Very useful if upgrading a pre-built Lenovo/HP/Dell machine that doesn't have XMP or memory speed settings in the BIOS, as using 'fancy' RAM with CL16 and head spreaders often relies on XMP and will fall back to 2,133mhz in some machines without XMP.

Price seems to have jumped back up to £27. The 2x8gb kit has just dropped from £31.49 to £28.49 if anyone needs dual channel. (edited)

does the description mean the ram mhz isn't guaranteed?

No, it means it's backwards compatible depending on what your CPU and/or motherboard can handle.

Expired, they've done something weird, supposedly increased the price of the new stock but moved 90+ of them to amazon warehouse and kept it at this £19.77 price
