    good price.
I bought 3 of these earlier this year and they are fine so long as you load them sensibly.

These are far from heavy duty, you can easily bend with thumb and finger.

The individual pieces sure. But once you have them assembled I doubt it. Can’t speak for this one personally but assume you’re referring to this type in general. I have 2 up that probably have about 150-200kg on each and zero issues.

As said previously - "Heavy duty" gives you the impression that these will be mild steel or similar. They ARE NOT.
They are more like hard/stiff/30 layers of tin foil - especially the uprights. Easily bent if miss-treated - however, serve the purpose they meant to which is once constructed, holding items on the shelves.
Not built to climb on / hit/ use as a work bench.

    Smaller size

Just make sure you seal or paint the shelves to prevent mould growth.
I had to spray down my shed last week and then throw 2 of the 4 shelving units away as the mould was unbelievable on them.

Built a similar set recently and used for storing garden consumables (sprays, packets, cartons, bottles, etc, in the garden shed. Nothing too heavy and well distributed. I primed the mdf boards with diluted PVA glue to seal them (two coats all round, particularly the edges) to discourage mould growth, Time will tell! As others have said, not overly robust but a good way to keep things tidy and off the floor.

These would be SO much better if they came with 9mm or thicker MFC (melamine faced chipboard) rather than the 5mm(?) MDF cbjltd.co.uk/new…ard, but they would also cost a lot more unfortunately.
An example of what I mean diy.com/tim…ice

Cheers for your advice, would b&q melamine boards fit on to these shelves? The width of the shelf is 90cm and the boards are 80cm, but not sure what the internal measurements are. Thanks

A more apt description would be
    "Crystals Wobbly 5 Tier Racking".
You need to screw them to the wall. Or if free standing only put light stuff on.
This where the HUKD policy of not including postage in the bold price is daft. What at first appears cheap is actually expensive, when compared to picking them up yourself from a DIY store, which offers on shelving come around again and again in circles.

Exactly, THANKYOU! This new price/postage separation thing is STUPID and needs reverting back.

I got one of these. I use it to store empty space

All the haters on here, can you please post a better deal to substantiate your arguments

Haters? For pointing out significant flaws in a product?

Looks like everyone is speaking from personal experience to me.

"Post: 0.55mm Thickness" how can that be called heavy duty!
    Ragdoll_Pigeon's avatar
    That's practically see-through
  13. Mind_Craft's avatar
    They are NOT heavy duty.
But they will suffice if you need to store upright boxes in your office/man cave.

    Are they good? No
    Are they acceptable? Barely
Would I buy it again? Possibly ..

Going off the comments it seems you get what you pay for. I’d just bought the shelving from Lidl (2 for £60), and was feeling a bit aggrieved after seeing this price. However the Lidl/Parkside ones are built like tanks so happy to spend the extra.

    You sure?
Options on the drop down menu are confusing?

Look at the drop down menu, only option is 'additional shelf' (edited)

I bought some of these last week (from another supplier). They are a PITA to set up but seem to be good enough for holding tools and boxes in the shed. I may upgrade the thin MDF shelves for something more substantial in the future, but they'll work fine for now.
    chromeo12's avatar
Aye - take so, so long to put together. Pretty decent for the price of them, though.

Anyone know any better alternatives to this which are sturdier?

I've had these 'monster racking' ones in the garage for over 5 years, very sturdy. They sell on eBay too

Worst shelves I've ever bought!! Heavy duty........... thats just a filthy lie!! Bought 2, built first one, flimsy af, left some tools on it (not that heavy), and the shelf sank................

Bought 3 pairs from different deals; The Screwfix ones were fine with solid boards also.
