I thought it was amusing as there was something like a 3-year warranty on the box from Daewoo heavy industries where I had to e-mail the receipt to which I got an email returned from someone to confirm the warranty - I thought it was somewhat quaint on a £10 kettle.
That kettle broke after a year, took it back to Argos and they said to call the manufacturer, as it's got 2 2-year manufacturer's warranty. Called the manufacturer and asked for the model and serial and when/where purchased. They checked they had some stock and they said they'd send out a replacement which should be within a couple of days. They then asked if I had registered for the second-year warranty I said no (who reads instructions for a kettle, It blatantly said 2 years warranty on the box), and they said In that case the kettle we are sending you won't be covered by the warranty if it breaks again.
Make sure you register for any additional years warranty if you need to.
