    Note that unlike several European nationalities who can now get visa free entry to China for tourism, Brits still require a visa for China, which requires your physical attendance at a Chinese Visa Centre for you to share your biometrics.

    The "good" news is that China is doing a sale with 25% off visa fees until Dec, £64 for single entry, £128 or £191 for multi year.

    The only other way to avoid the visa fee as a Brit with s stand passport is to do a side trip to a 3rd country so you can use transit without visa but that needs some care to stay within the rules. (edited)
