One of the best RPG's of all time. Literally hundreds of hours of content with all the included DLC for anyone that for some reason never played this game. I only wish I could play it all over again for the very first time!

It's also been reduced in price on Steam during their current sale but is a few quid more.

You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of this legendary order of guardians. With the return of mankind's ancient foe and the kingdom engulfed in civil war, you have been chosen by fate to unite the shattered lands and slay the archdemon once and for all. Explore a stunning world, make complex moral choices, and engage in bone-crushing combat against massive and terrifying creatures.

Determine your legacy and fight for Thedas as a noble dwarf, an elf far from home, a mage apprentice, or a customized hero of your own design. Experience many unique origin stories on your quest to unite the kingdoms and defeat an ancient evil.

Awakening Expansion Pack
Become the commander of the Grey Wardens and embark on a new campaign in the world of Amaranthine. You'll fight new enemies, learn new spells, and fend off the advancing Darkspawn forces.

Nine Content Packs:
The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, Feastday Gifts, Lailana's Song, The Darkspawn Chronicles, The Golems of Amgarrak, Witch Hunt, and the Blood Dragon Armor.

  • Determine your origin: customize your hero's physical appearance and character alignment, but choose wisely. Your race and combat class will define your origin, both within Thedas and beyond. Choices determine where you begin your journey and future interactions.
  • Build loyalty: recruit over a half-dozen party members, including mages, deadly assassins, a berzerker dwarf, and a warrior from the giant Qunari race. With so many different personalities, you'll have to watch your words to build trust, loyalty, and maybe even romance.
  • Make every move count: combine your own moves with those of your teammates to build a melee attack. Fight in real-time with hard-hitting strikes, or assign individual orders to teammates for a more tactical approach.

I know this is GOG not Steam but I love this game and wondered if anyone here has any experience running it on Steam Deck? I’ve ordered one and I’m planning on revisiting this using it.

I played it on the Deck but only for half an hour or so. Seemed to work well enough for me. If you buy it there for the extra few quid don't forget you can always request a refund if it doesn't work. (edited)

Big RPG fan but never played these, definitely worth playing then?

The graphics are rough (they weren't good on release years ago) but the companions are the best in any game for me, including Mass Effect. They alone make the game worth playing. But it has a decent story and some really well written side quests.

only drawback is the combat otherwise a great game (edited)

The amount of tedious management needed to keep your team buffed enough to survive nearly made me quit, along with not feeling in control of the action a lot of the time. Not the worst though and I do have a very low tolerance for this sort of game management instead of just diving into action.

Just finishing off the dlc now...
