You can attack with all punches but you can end the attack sequence with square or triangle. The triangle end will recover ki which is handy when in a form that drains ki.
When in the field you can encounter enemies. You can instant kill enemies weaker than you with high speed flying.
Look for and do blue missions immediately.
Tap triangle 3 times when flying / X when on the ground (like in Mario 64).
Cooking meals can temporarily and permanently raise some stats of all characters.
