As a decorator for over 30 years I can say that Dulux has gone downhill the last 10 years. Particularly the trade paints that haven’t got that much better coverage than standard. They are also the worst for ‘flashing’ which means if you’re not quick enough with the roller after cutting in, you’ll see the difference when dried. I was told that’s why B@Q stopped the Dulux paint mixing in store because of complaints.

It's the chemicals that are used in the paints now. Vinyl matt can be an absolute pain to work with if you're not quick. Change in regulations means that they have to add/remove certain chemicals which has an adverse affect on the paint.

I do like Leyland trade and wickes trade for contract matt/silk. Again, not a big fan of their viny matt either. Regular matt/silk is very decent though and comes in fairly cheap compared to others. And if you know how to mix paints, it works a treat.

Painted my mum's entire flat and the paints only cost me around 60 for 3 tubs of 10L and a couple other small paints.

No this is for walls not wood and way too big a container for touching up, if it was OK.

Shame there are so few deals on super matt trade... has anyone sanded vinyl matt.... wondering if it sands well or whether it will just crack and peel.....

Yes I have sanded it many times, between coats too and it is fine
