Dune is reduced in multiple places at the moment. Thanks to @Chim_Richalds for the iTunes Dune post (where it is £4.99); here's the Google Play equivalent. I bit at this price and bought with some Google Reward dosh I had.

Hope it helps someone.

Critics Consensus
Dune occasionally struggles with its unwieldy source material, but those issues are largely overshadowed by the scope and ambition of this visually thrilling adaptation. Read critic reviews

Audience Says
Denis Villeneuve's Dune looks and sounds amazing -- and once the (admittedly slow-building) story gets you hooked, you'll be on the edge of your seat for the sequel. Read audience reviews

Anyone know which has the higher bitrate/better quality? Google, Amazon or Apple?

I don't find much difference between the 3, but a lot of movies I've watched on Prime don't have ANY subtitles (even the non-English parts which should be subtitled by default) so I'd never buy films on Amazon.

I generally choose whichever platform offers the film I want in HDR, because this lifts the image far more than resolution, although HDR usually means the film is also 4K. (edited)

I know many loved that movie, but to me one of the real bore one.

Agree with you. I was excited for this but was really disappointed when I eventually watched it.

Glad I saw this because I almost bought it on iTunes and I've got £15 odd Play Store credit to use from Opinions surveys. Score!

Just hope the volume isn't ludicrously low like some other films I've bought on Google TV.

Watched it last night and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The story actually doesn't mess about, and there are some truly memorable sequences. A much better crafted film than I expected.

I watch these Google TV films via the YouTube app on my TV, and unfortunately the volume is always 10x quieter than all my other apps, such as Netflix, Prime, Apple TV+, Disney+, etc.

It's baffling because YouTube is always the LOUDEST app when watching normal YouTube content, but at least Google TV films are free using Opinion Rewards credit. (edited)

Side note, can Google credit be used on other things? Way to to use it for xbox games or even ubisoft points.

But this could be good. Would need to check how well it streams to the TV though. But haven't got round to watching this yet. (edited)

Depends on your country, but apps, books, movies and subs here in the UK.

I wonder if I could use them to buy a YouTube Premium sub :/

Does anyone know how to watch this in 4k on tv ? I used to use google play app on chrome cast which broke and then YouTube on tv but that doesn’t seem to allow 4k.
Is there a new app/way or do you need a separate streaming box/stick
    Tonycv51's avatar
Really depends on your TV and or streaming stick. On our Samsung they play in 4k but only stereo though forums say it should support surround sound but it is a couple of years old. Chromecast with Google TV 4k version and an android TV will play it in 4k via Play Movies which still exists on those.

Edit also try setting resolution manually in YouTube app when paying the movie. I seem to remember it being slow to click into 4k (edited)
