Anyone had experience with these 'blade' type strimmers? How are they when you're cutting close to walls/decking for example?

Ignore the naysayers. These are very good for the money, save faffing around with lines.
The blades are dirt cheap and last ages as long as you aren't trying to chop up concrete blocks. Blades are very quick and easy to change too.

these are blooming brilliant Im 77
and in my time I have had 5 strimmers
and its the first cordless with blades and wow wow how I wished I had bought it years ago it cuts superbly well balanced goes right to the edge the 2 AH Battery is the perfect run time otherwise the weight and balance would be too much for most I think
    I LOVE MINE

We cleared our new to us half-size overgrown allotment with one of these over a week or so, used about 8 blades. We called it Arnold obvs. (edited)

I'm glad u posted that, I'm attacking an overgrown garden tomorrow and wondered how many blades I'd get thru. Happy to replace them rather than the tangle of a line feed.

Seems like I got unlucky with the blades, as I get through them every 10 minutes - will try to source some Einhell ones. Agree it's a decent strimmer for the money though, and really useful that you can use the batteries with other Einhell / Ozito Power X-Change tools

The trigger is going on mine after not much use over the last 13 months.
Was purchased well before that though (but not used until we moved) so almost certainly out of warranty unfortunately.

To add to that, the switch on one of my torches has recently failed and the blade is currently jammed in my recip saw so trying to find a means of freeing it.

I like Einhell and Ozito tools (and have a good number & variety) and I look after them, so going through a bit of a disappointing patch with them at the moment.

Stihl are reliable and even better with Blades.
Blades are a lot thicker and never break.

Hows the vibration on this one? I've had a cheap £40 ebay battery strimmer for years which works fine but I can't hold anything steady for a while after using it... Thinking of spending a bit more to get one which hopefully doesn't do that.

Used it today for 1st time and it is fairly low on vibes. Did everything ok and didn't break the blade even though I hit quite a few branches and roots.

Going to give it a punt, my little allotment has a lot of grass, and the land isn't really even enough for the push mower leant by a friend. Thanks OP!

Has anoyone else had problems with the free battery? I plugged in mine into the supplied charger and it gave an error. The other battery that came with the Einhell tool I bought was fine. I'll obviously contact Wickes customer service, but wondered if these free batteries are old stock and problems are to be expected?

I've just collected one for my overgrown allotment, never had a strimmer before but sick of hand shears!
Fingers crossed! Thanks for all the comments above.

    Spare battery charged fine. (edited)
