Personally I would say spend a bit more and use a reputable brand because Eufy is the worst for reliability

I have a eufy doorbell, it doesn't delete the recordings when I've pressed the reset button before. It only deletes the recordings if i actually delete the doorbell from the app and register it again

As rings basic plan is now going £34.99, will have a look at this when current plan expires. Thanks OP!

The big issue with Eufy is their cameras that use the homebase have a massive security flaw where a thief simply has to hold the SYNC button down on the back of the camera and it removes itself from your homebase as well as wiping all recordings linked to that camera. Eufy have known about the issue for more than a year and have still yet to address it, most users have come to the conclusion that it will never be fixed. Just one reason why I won't deal with a security company that clearly doesn't take a major flaw seriously. communitysecurity.eufylife.com/t/m…359

Doesn't work for me either. Neither on the app, nor online

I had similar problems, an existing JL member and I was trying the code on the app and online, no joy. I went into the 'rewards' part of my account and that seemed to re sign me up. Then the code worked no problem. But I was banging my head against the 'invalid code' message for ages

I've had mine for about 18 months now. On my second as the first unit developed a fault and I was getting notifications when nothing was happening. Eufy customer service was excellent. Spoke to someone on the phone straight away. Did some trouble shooting... tech wasn't happy so immediately sent a new unit. Arrived in 3/4 days. The software is decent, the support is good. The price for all of the above is excellent.

Just bought the spotlight camera from the deal on amazon a couple weeks ago. Equally as impressed with that. Shame you can't put an SD card in the spotlight camera.. buy that's my only grumble.

Both cameras linked together on the same app, no subs. Very happy.

Friends have been impressed with it at work and have also bought them after seeing mine.

Interestingly my colleagues with Ring products get very touchy when this debate springs up. They know they're getting ripped off.. for zero better.

Finally got code to work, I had an account but want member. I googled jl membership and clicked link it then came up with my details with option to join for free. Once I did that went back to basket put code in and worked
    el0nmu5k's avatar
Did all of that and still says invalid code.

Is this the normal 1080p or 2k?

Would it be better to get it from Amazon for £74.99 if you didn't want/need the Google Nest Hub

If you dont want the google nest, then yes, that would be a better price

    OR

you could buy this and sell the nest on facebook marketplace

It's not a deal. Just a suggestion of which item you can buy to get free nest hub.

Looking at your profile, it seems that you have been a member since January 2022 and have posted a total of ZERO deals on this site so far.

Not sure if that makes you an expert on what a deal is.

I suggest that you read the comments of the people who commented immediately before your comment "Good deal" and " Excellent deal! Ordered"

If you were intending to buy the doorbell anyway, then it is a deal. (edited)

Got mine up and running and quite impressed so far.
I originally bought the Amazon one but then saw the John Lewis deal which also includes an SD card with the google nest.
    Very good deal .
  13. el0nmu5k's avatar
Can you buy and return it while keeping the hub which you can then sell on eBay and make a quick 45 quids out of thin air
    RudeYute's avatar
So committing fraud? Why not just go and steal the whole thing in that case?
  14. rich_jtg's avatar
Got my John Lewis parcel today. They have kindly sent me a pasta bowl instead of the doorbell.

    It's a nice bowl, but...

I remember reading that the original Eufy battery powered doorbell (this one?) had a bad delay between button press and notification on phone. I would've thought a software fix may have sorted that by now as I rarely hear about it anymore (although that can also be due to the newer versions coming out). Can anyone who has this confirm if that's still an issue?
  21. tech_pete's avatar
It does work! U need to create a free account and then download the John Lewis app! Put the door bell and the nest in your checkout and then submit the code! Works perfectly
    whycantiusemyownnameffs's avatar
I have done all of that several times and keeps saying code invalid
The site even says it’s free but it’s not working for me

I would also avoid Eufy, started off well but failed just after the 12 month warranty. Eufy didn’t want to know.
See lots of much older ring doorbells around so I’d stick with a bigger brand
  27. Myredsock's avatar
Sorry silly question here. Someone approaches, the video appears on the Hub ?
  28. stuartuk's avatar
After reading comments tempted to return this now. Was gonna use it to replace my ring doorbell for the same price hike reason.
  29. djp2k8's avatar
How does this compare with Google nest doorbell battery version? I have the Google one & find it can be slow from the time the button is pushed to the time it takes to notify. Thinking of maybe changing
  30. anuruddha's avatar
This or blink door bell better?
Can we record to Homebase instead of microsd
  31. deleted1568709's avatar
The code is actually MYJLGOOGLENEST (you missed a T) - sorry if someone has already pointed this out.
  32. EverydayImHustling's avatar
Suddenly very tempting after seeing the new price for the Ring plan! £35/year is extortionate for what it is.
  33. scotia2's avatar
Some really bad advice in here. My doorbell is connected to a hub that my other eufy cameras are connected to. You steal my doorbell, I’m checking the hub to see who you are. No cloud subscription and it’s a no brainer. However if you live in a dodgy area or your front door is on a public pavement id probably opt for something that can’t be ripped off the wall so easily
    el0nmu5k's avatar
no, it takes some time to take out the unit and by that time you'd hopefully catch whoever is trying to mess with it. However, if someone is hell bent on taking your doorbell away, then no amount of screws or glues can save you.

So just because it's easy to remove the unit isn't its drawback; the fact that your neighbourhood is dodgy is probably a bigger concern.
  34. ramtheconqueror's avatar
Thanks for this. Wont be buying Eufy cameras now.

Love my Eufy doorbell, but I’ve not managed to connect it to my Google devices.
  37. rufnek2kx's avatar
I bought this thinking the hub would automatically bring up the doorbell cam when the button is pushed. It doesn't

What is JL's returns policy like? Can I return these despite having opened both of them?
