That's a rotary not a DA, personally if you've never used a polisher before this one isn't for you, you could end up with a right mess on your hands.
Learn on a DA before you upgrade to a rotary, took me about 3 years to do the upgrade

literally just come to this thread to mention this, as a lot of people would buy this, chuck some polish on and burn off their paint work.

i done some crazy research before looking into getting a polishing machine, but had some lessons of using a normal one with compound, comes out rather well on my car now.

This is a great price 'however' if not used correctly can burn the paintwork as it's basically just a low RPM angle grinder.

For novices it would be a lot safer to use a Dual Action polisher as the spindle moves so the pad doesn't rotate centrally.

This is rated 4.6 out of 5 (336 reviews) but it's £15 more (however worth it) argos.co.uk/pro…300

Oh and always keep the pad moist (using a water spray bottle) and always move it around (trying to polish out a small scuff may burn or removed too much paint if keep on the same small area)

Only thing I'd add is that you need to be particularly careful at the edges of a panel. It's very easy to burn through the clear coat there

Make sure you collect the polisher and not the angle grinder.

I bet this and a dab of T Cut work wonders. Probably so effective you wouldn't even need to wash the car first.

I had a "cheap" polisher similar to this, screwed up the paint on my last car bonnet because it being a rotary polisher you have to be highly skilled to be able use it effectively and not cause paint damage. Ended up getting a Meguiers MT320 (DA polisher), so much easier to use and the results are top notch.

So you would buy this Ferrex Car Polisher? Run far, run wide!

I have one and it's great. I've been using this several times on my car with great results. Previously I've been fighting for hours to remove the wax from the car, this tool sped up the process significantly. In addition to that if you think that you are lacking some experience there are several speed options so you can start with a slow speed to build confidence and then move to slightly higher speeds. Slow speeds are very slow so there is no risk of grinding the surface of the lacquer, accessories are nice and handy as well.

    Weight is significant.

    This
I've got the cordless 20v/40v equivalent Ferrex jobbie
Never used it for 'polishing' just for (as Ben says) assisting with the removal of wax etc

    Is this a rotary polisher??

There'll be no paint left after a couple of licks with this

    Fake news.

It might be better for you to learn how to use such a tool before commenting on it (edited)
