This is probably the only Aldi tool that did not impress. The way the attachments are held did not feel secure and they looked worn after the first use.

Looks to be the standard fitting so all of the blades that have a gap in the bottom of the attachment should fit

The only ones that don't fit are "starlock" type where the attachment in a complete ring (hopefully that makes sense)

    E.g. this will fit

    toolstation.com/smart-trade-wide-scraper-blade/p94560?utm_source=googleshopping%2CRakuten&utm_medium=feed%2Caffiliates&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed%2C463908012704425471366807&utm_content=ShopForward+CSS&ranMID=46390&ranEAID=nz%2FxpRlxjVA&ranSiteID=nz_xpRlxjVA-x5TSnZLGnf3.cZV1lTvKUw

Loads of choices in tool station screwfix etc

Starlock is a "better" system but for DIY better to have the older style is the blades are cheaper (edited)

Looks cool, anybody have one of these?

I own this product too. I picked it up red stickered for £15 a year ago.

For DIY it's fine. It's heavy but it's plenty powerful enough. I used it for cutting into skirting in situ in a room so I could lay new flooring and it worked great. I had to get a bunch of new blades for it as they blunt quickly.

Had one for a few years now but only used a few times, its brilliant and has more than paid for itself.

I've owned this for several years, purchased it originally for cutting into wood and found it powerful & it worked well....I've only used it 3 times since and have found it useful for odd DIY jobs. For the money and occasional use it's worth it

I've only used mine a couple of times but do like the extra handle attachment which I don't believe a lot of the others have. I could be wrong.

I have the rechargeable one and it's been very useful for scraping, sanding, cutting wood, plunge cutting, plastic etc.

Can it do everything an angle grinder would do?
    kalico's avatar
No. That's why they still sell angle grinders.

It's in store only. What's the experience about finding these in stores? Do they run out quickly?
    Bass_Monkey's avatar
It will vary from store to store RE: how quickly they run out depending on demand, but we only got a small handful of them in for the Specials launch they were part of on Sunday just gone in our store; i.e. less than half a dozen available.

Overheats very quickly. Very dangerous. The multi tool is one tool you want to invest good money into. Go for a known brand. And make sure it's cordless. For drills etc... Aldi is fine. Not for this unfortunately.

Great price. An essential tool for a DIY enthusiast - I had to get a multi tool urgently when I was laying some floor and needed to cut into some architraves, wish this had been available as I ended up spending 100 quid on a DeWalt.

Bought this last week as have been looking for a decent deal on 1 for weeks. However the fitting of the blades does seem a little different from many replacement blades & accessories for it.

Sure, it does seem to be the open design and I assume all open type blades & accessories would fit. But what I don't quite I about the design in whilst most or all the open blade designs appear to have more slats (if you get what I mean) on the attachment end to fix it to the tool. But the blades on this that Aldi have included simply have small round holes instead. This must surely confuse buying replacements for some as surely the slat based design makes for easier fitting if the tool end has slight variations of the placement of the fixing point that the small round holes might not easily align with?.
