    2ah? Why bother.

Lightweight and more compact for tight areas. They actually last very well in an impact driver, I put in approx 150 70mm screws in with one 2Ah before it died. More than enough power for the average user tbh.

Just asking an odd question. I know this is mainly used for screwing but is this any good for drilling holes in brick / wood? thanks for the advice

That's a good question, I didn't know the difference between a drill and an impact driver.

This is a good article which goes into detail about the different tools and their uses.

An impact driver has the focus on low speed, controlled torque, and is more something that you would use if you spend a lot of time screwing and bolting things in and out.

I didn't really look into the capabilities of the one* I recently got, but it seems it's an impact drill which has the speed for drilling and the torque for control. You might be better off getting something like that.

*I tried to link what I got but it's banned.

Looks just like the one I got from Temu as a free sign up gift. Had to buy £8 of other stuff.

Can you change the end on these so I can use it with socket sets?

Signed up to the club yesterday, still not taking effect. When it does, do you think I can get the 5% plus the 10% first app transaction discounts together?

Bought this last year. Good tool, but I wish I'd got a 1/2" socket version as it's quite easy to snap the shaft on the 1/4" tools (even impact rated) (edited)
    BattleBeast1's avatar
A 1/2" socket version isn't the same tool, it's an impact wrench. I wouldn't imagine sockets on this impact driver would be much good. The DCD 921 (hog ring) and DCD 922 (detent pin) are the two compact impact wrenches, I have the 922.

Just got this one in a set, with a Combi drill. Looking forward to screwing everything in the house now.

Can you use this Makita B-66896 impact driver bits with this DeWalt impact driver?

I ordered the Makita bits anyway and it fits this DeWalt impact driver (edited)

I'm torn between this and the einhell set in Toolstation. I've got a lot of einhell stuff already so it would be good to stick with the same ecosystem but the DeWalt might be worth making a switch? googleadservices.com/pag…a1I
