The FiiO BTR5 is a portable Bluetooth amplifier and DAC (digital-to-analog converter) that can be used to improve the audio quality and volume from smartphones, tablets, computers and other devices. Some key uses and features of the BTR5 include:

    - Bluetooth Receiver - It can pair with Bluetooth enabled devices like phones, tablets or computers to receive and amplify the wireless audio signal. This allows you to listen to higher quality audio compared to the built-in Bluetooth of most devices.

    - Wired DAC/Amp - The BTR5 has a USB-C input that allows it to function as a wired external DAC and amplifier when connected to a phone, computer, etc. via USB. This bypasses the device's internal DAC and provides improved audio quality.

    - Headphone Amplifier - It can drive high impedance headphones, providing more power and volume than your phone or computer could alone. This helps headphones sound their best.

    - Balanced Output - It has a 2.5mm balanced output that can be used with balanced headphones and cables. This provides improved stereo separation and dynamics.

    - Bluetooth Transmitter - The BTR5 can also transmit a Bluetooth signal, allowing you to make non-Bluetooth headphones and speakers wireless.

    - Portable Design - Its small size and battery power makes it highly portable and ideal for use with smartphones and tablets while on the go.

So in summary, the BTR5 is a versatile portable DAC/amp and Bluetooth adapter that can enhance your listening experience with mobile devices and headphones. It improves audio quality, boosts volume, and adds wireless capability.

Got one, excellent with USB and BT, balanced output worth the effort.

Downside BT range is not great at higher bitrates (LDAC), BTR7 is better for range. Switching to lower bitrate CODEC helps.

Its really funky ain't it how that LDAC range can drop, I done a heap of testing with BT adapters and my TV, Nvidia shield and PC with BT connectivity, I just found you have to get as close as possible to your device or move the BT transmitter as close as possible to yourself regardless of codec and switch off NC.

Still on the look for a decent BT dac/headphone amp, but not sure about the Fiio gear their support is poor for some products (BTA30/Pro).

I would steer anyone interested in a dac/headphone amp to look at the Qudelix 5k. Much better reviews than the btr5, better build, better battery, more stable , more features, and worth every penny
