I now really regret this decision and have since been buying them all back up on Switch
Sadly this remaster has many issues. Backgrounds are not remastered unless you count a smoothing filter. I wish they did this as it'd make a world of difference and modders have been doing it for years. At 1080p it is like a splinter in your eye. The smoothing effect helps but it's not remastered and previous mods that were free did a better job. NO analogue controls. It controls worse than the original.
Battles have been downgraded to 16fps for everything. It can make some things harder. Wish they could have found a way to make this as good as the original or better. The world map is at 30fps too.
The new upgrades do look nice though. I like the way you can speed things up and stop random battles. The characters are definitely better.
It's sad that they don't have to source to really improve this game. I guess a remake is the only way we'll see this game look like it should. Hopefully modders can fix the issues somehow.
