It’s not very good. probably the worst mainline final fantasy game out.
    looks good though

Seems to have been well received by critics and gamers alike. Plenty of copies on fb marketplace for £30 though so I’ll go down that route.

Sold mine after 10 hours of play. Didn't feel or play like a final fantasy and even trying to separate it in my head as an unrelated action adventure game, I did not enjoy it at all.

I personally loved the gameplay. Of course there's tons of cinematics it's a Final Fantasy, not sure what people are expecting. A solid 50+ hours of game that was a nice experience. I wouldn't buy it for that much anymore though. Just sold my copy for £35 and people kept asking for £30. Plenty of copies to be bought on Facebook marketplace at the moment

    No challenge.
    no exploration really.
    Elemental damage completely missing.
    items seemed completely pointless.
square button ends up just taking a bashing.
it’s lacking everything from a final fantasy game.
looks great but it’s the worst one yet.

I still haven't finished it. The beginning was quite strong but then it all becomes extremely slow; boring quests, most of the time you spend running back and forth talking to people or being someone's delivery boy. The nonexistent lip synch is embarrasing for a triple A title too (outside pre-rendered cutscenes) but I hear that's a square enix thing. Wouldn't be such a big deal if the game didn't make you watch characters talk awkwardly 70% of the time lol. Side quests are worse than in any game I have ever played. Not even exaggerating, they're just godawful. Hope I can finish it at some point, it's not all terrible, the obvious inspiration from dmc and god of war gameplay-wise is definitely its strength, if you enjoy gameplay like that, but other than that... extremely mid game. In my opinion that is

    100% agree.
lacking so much for a FF game

If you like watching games rather than playing, this one is for you...

Best mainline FF since 12 (which is my favourite).

It's not perfect for sure. But it really worked for me. Would love to see them develop this style more in the next one.

Best FF game made to me.

    Loved it

I loved this game, there are parts unlike anything I've ever played, so epic! It's very story focused, which is what final fantasy is about for me.

Good game this but definitely has it shortcomings.

I did really enjoy the game at the start but past the 30 hour mark the side quests become dull and really just feels like padding. Even some of the main quests are just fetch quests for the sake of it. I've just obtained the final Eikon and that fight was the worst Eikon fight in the whole game, there was barely anything to it.

Saying that I do really enjoy the story, the characters and the music. So in that sense it does feel like an FF game to me and I will finish it. I don't think I'll bother with a second run through though to try and get all of the achievements.

I preferred FF7R for it's character customization and the materia system.

Jedi Survivor is my GOTY so far this year and thats after playing Hogwarts, TotK and FF16.
