sorted byNo, you can use the account on up to four different devices. I watch on a mix of laptops, Roku and Now TV boxes.
Nope, that's a different box, that 'blue witing' one has the ability to pause etc.

You do not require a licence to own equipment capable of receiving broadcast TV or playing iPlayer catchup services. You can own as many TVs, satellite receivers, computers and streaming devices as you like.
You do require a licence if you use the equipment to watch or record any broadcast TV. This does not only apply to BBC content but all broadcast services including ITV, SKY etc regardless of how they are recieved, via an aerial, satellite or live streaming.
From 1st September you do need a licence to watch catchup services provided by the BBC, i.e iPlayer. You still do not need a licence to watch any other catchup or on-deamnd streaming service such as NowTV, Netflix, ITV etc. Note that you do not need a licence to use iPlayer radio.
So essentially if you are using the iPlayer there are two options you have to stay legal, buy a licence or stop using the iPlayer service. Just having equipment that has an iPlayer app on it does not require you to have a licence unless you actually make use of it.
Note: It will be easier for the BBC to discover if people use iPlayer illegally as remarkably TV Licensing (Capita) have been given the right to use anti-terror laws to get IP address information from ISPs to find out who has been using the service. So if you are going to try and evade the licence then I wouldn't recommend it.
I have the movies package and there are some decent films on there. Not everyone ONLY wants to see the newest movies. There are some great older films that are a good addition. Plus they rotate their film list. Not sure what films you have been watching but there are ones on there from last year so bit of a non argument really.

They do, although iplayer doesn't run particularly brilliantly i find (you just have to be patient). And i think the ITV Player has more on offer when watching on a laptop than on a Now TV box (though that's possibly just have i've perceived it, i could be wrong).
I may have got the TV model wrong. We shall find out tomorrow But there will be a 43'' for £279 & 49'' for £349.
£19.99 is not be sniffed at especially as a month pass via direct debit for entertainment is £6.99.
Given you can easily sell the box for £10 makes the pass
£1.70 (ent) or £2.50 (movies) per month is a steal for existing customers.
Yes the new box is out and with a little patience can be had for under £40 but I think those deals are great for new customers.
Cheers for the heads up OP

Yes it would!, I have some that I bought last year l, just a few days after Cyber Monday itself (for only £15 at the time for 2 Months of Movie Passes on each of the 2 NOW TV Boxes I purchased at the time).
Lets just say, both Vouchers are still good to go ..... hehehehe. :-)
Nothing like a nice rant in Gibberish

Only on the new Smart Boxes.
However you can stream most of the live Freeview channels by side loading an app to this black box or even the first gen white one. That app is here:

Try to sell them on Gumtree - I managed to sell a couple for £5 each (brand new boxed, with just the code missing).
Another alternative for a low cost 3-month Movies pass is this:
NOW TV Movies - 3 months for £9.99 - Samsung My Galaxy App
And possibly more..."if the Samsung myGalaxy app can be installed on any friend's / relative's / neighbour's compatible Android phone, & who will not be using it themselves, you could also politely ask them for it. Send them the app link above & ask them to check on their phones."
Either install the Sky Service app, login & check - they usually offer at least 50% here. For Apple devices, click here
Or, follow the advice in this thread: 75% off Sky Tv for existing customers. Only works when you call the specific number 3 weeks after putting your request to cancel!
75% off not always guaranteed, but you should be able to get at least 60% off & £50 credit via this method.
P.S. If the above don't work, then give it a few weeks & try this: Old Customers Offer 60% off Sky TV & £100 Credit! (The Family Bundle £38 now £6.66) @ Sky (edited)
Usually 12 months from the purchase date
You can watch now tv on 4 different devices , you dont need the box , just an account .
As for the pass , when I set up an account it allowed me to add the pass straight away , I had no problems then . I only had problems adding a pass to my existing account .
See my above post on the problems I had , but what i can make out , you have to add a pass before the old one runs out (but dont quote me on that )
It doesn't seem very straight forward .
Yes, when you register for a new Now TV account (online or via the box), just take up their free offer without entering any pass initially. Then once you begin your free trial you can go ahead & enter the pass - more info here
Be sure to enter the pass before the trial ends, otherwise you'll be charged automatically for the following month. New passes can be added up to a month to go before the previous pass expires.
You can stream it directly from an IOS/Android-based mobile/tablet using their app via a Chromecast (not Google Chrome) - you don't need the box for this: setup instructions here
From Devices that are compatible with Chromecast:
"Please note: The Google Chrome browser can no longer be used for casting with NOW TV."
It still doesn't seem right to me that you cannot add a pass after your previous pass has expired ?
According to the online adviser yesterday , you cant apply a pass to an account that hasn't got an active subscription .
I cancelled my previous subscription before it ended on the 10 aug , I wasn't charged the 9.99 as I had cancelled before it ended .
I just used it for the iplayer etc .
I was charged 9.99 yesterday so i had an "active subscription" that they could apply the 4 month pass to .
I think what Xkey means is that say you already have an account that is currently not being used (because you don't like paying full price) applying the code to that account doesn't work. The workaround being that you can apply the code to an account that is being used.
If this is so then I guess there is a checksum in the code that is checked for when trying to apply the code to an unused account. This check is probably bypassed if your account is in use (to cover those on the free trial).
I guess there is another workaround which is just to register a new account (which has the advantage of giving a free 2 weeks also) but you may need a different method of payment for that, I'm sure I registered a new account in my wife's name once and they picked up on it because I used my card (which I had previously used on my account).
1) Yes, & register with them
2) Enter code from this deal 5 days into the offer (or any day before the £1 trial ends)
3) Yes, only cancel the entertainment pass (if you don't want to continue it)
4) If you don't want to continue, cancel the movie pass just before it ends (as you cannot cancel a payment). Or, add another pass (1 / 2 / 4 / 6 month) within 30 days of the previous pass coming to an end. If the boxes aren't that cheap any more (& you don't want to stockpile them!), you can get just the movie passes on eBay for an average of £4-5 per month.
"Got a voucher?
You can still start a Cinema, Entertainment or Kids Month Pass voucher after your free trial. Follow these steps to apply your voucher any time before your free trial ends."
If you need a Chromecast: Chromecast 2 + HD copy of In the Heart of the Sea £19.99 - Wuaki.tv
Any other queries, don't hesitate to ask
These usually expire a year after you buy them, but I wouldn't go over 6 months just to be on the safe side.
Not bad. £21 for 5months of sky movies, this allows all the Christmas period. Brilliant.
yeah never noticed that's why i deleted my comment
